At the moment this be the 12 movies who delieverd the moost money in 2011.

* Dutch Movie (A kind of Dutch Desperate Housewives) based on tv series with a boxoffice close to the one of Avatar ($23,686,268.)

Bad Teacher. Again a Cameron Diaz movies doing very well at the Dutch Box Office.
Rio in general be a big box office hit what i don't expect. But it look like Brazil scores very good, also Fast Five playing in Brazil.
Rango not be in top 15, stil a nice 1,4 million.
The Hangover Part I whas a big in the cinema too ($5,279,285.) and hit on DVD and this possible result people get intrest in the sequel.
The Dutch Box Office flop of 2011 with high expections be: X-men First Class. As it look like Cowboys & Aliens also be a flop. Thanks to the delay of 2 weeks i think, the movie swith release date with that other Spielberg movie Super 8 who deliever 1,6 million whyle C&A deliever a litle 983.000.
The Smurfs, Yogi Bear and The King's Speech also deliever a lot of money and this whyle The Smurfs & Yogi Bear get a a lot of hate over it.
Harry Potter 8 deliever a litle bit more then Then Harry Potter 6, i expect a bigger cap.

    This year's Twilight will also be a big money earner and will take fourth place for the year I think. Sherlock Holmes will also do well. Apart from that they'll be no other change with the top 10.

    Super 8 really deserved a spot on here.
    From my view; it should have done waaaaay better than Potc4 (One of the worst films i have ever seen), and i thiought that it was better overall than Harry Potter 8 (Though that film was brilliant), and i do not intend on seeing transformers 3, the money-stealing excuse of a 'film'. Not bragging or anything, but Super 8 is my all-time favourite film and definately had the potentiol to make more than most of the films here...

    That entire list is embarrassing and is a sad reflection of our times. 7 of those 12 films are sequels (excluding HP7b) and of the rest, Rio is the only original story. The Hollywood profit machine at full force.

    Top 9 is on the moment the same. Possible The Smurfs go swith from place with Cars 2. New Entry is Thor on the 10th place. The rest moved from 10th to 11- 13th place.

    Johny English Reborn (Released on 6 October) starts weeks be a bigger succes then the first movie and the first movie be a big hit in 2003 too in The Netherlands. If the movie contuned this trend possible it end around 5.2 million, that is 1 million more then the first movie.

    This week Tin Tin (Dutch name: Kuifje) be released and with those numbers of The Smurfs already mabey we can expect something close to the numbers of POTC 4 or Harry Potter 8 or atleast even close to The Smurfs. I don't expect much of the American Box office. The movie should have it from the Europe boxoffice and in special Belgium, The Netherlands & France.

    Also Sherlock Holmes 2 stil must be released, the first movie (Released in January 2010) deliever a close to 4 million in The Netherlands in 2010. I think it possible get a Iron Man effect, the second Iron Man not be big succes as the first one in my country. And we have Mission Impossible 4, the fact Eon let us wait 4 years for Bond 23 helps Mi4 a bit.

    I am suprised that Twilight 4 deliever a lot of money because the previous one not realy be big hit in my country. After 2 weeks the movie deliever more then $ 3 million. After 5 weeks Tin Tin deliever almost $ 3,9 million.

    With 166 screens the 428.000 openings weekend this week of Happy Feet 2 be a disapointed. All of the first 12 already be released on dvd. The Smurfs suprise me and look like it there better can stick it longer in the cinema.

    On 7 December we can expect the release of Puss in Boots and one day later it is time for Mission Impossible 4 and the R-rated sequel of in 2010 succesfol dutch movie who in 2010 get a 12 rank. Shrek 4 and this dutch movie end in the top 5 of 2010.

    So many of the box office hits nowadays are family films or part of a franchise. Not big on family since my kids are all grown up, never into the Harry Potter fantasy but I do like the Twillight Films.

    China Syndrome
    Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
    Godfather
    The Exorcist
    when those gutsy and artsy movies sweep the public off it's feet?

    Those days are gone. Look at the list above. Almost all the films were disappointing. It has been a sad year for film indeed.

    It's nice to see a Dutch independent movie topping the national Box Office. It would be incredibly rare to see that in Britain.

    I'm sure a lot of people would class Harry Potter as a British film, actors, crew etc but it is essentially funded by Hollywood and they see the profits not us. So in my book it's not.

    If you whant you already can see this list as litle final list because the last update whas 1 January 2012. But the last 2 movies of 2011: Sherlock Holmes 2 and Mi4 stil running. And to anser who be the moost deliever 2011 movie those 2 are the only one who make change to end in the final list. In the next 2 weeks Sherlock Holmes get a more wide release. Mi4 wil deliever more then 400 million. Mi4 stil can beat rio. To beat Cars 2 the movie should deliever more then Mi2 did in 2000. Rio deliever $ 484.6 million, Cars 2 $ 560 million. So i think we can say on this moment we are sjure about the Top 9 with exeption Breaking Dawn and Kung Fu Panda 2 wil swith from place.

    Only a couple of small changes. Tin Tin moved from the 16th to the 15th place. But the last update be 25 December. With a theater count of 110, Mi4 deliever $865,601 in the first 4 days (Release date 21 December 2011). Sherlock Holmes 2 first day it only be a litle less with $690,611 with a theater count of 100. After 2 weeks (From 15 December til 25 December) Sherlock Holmes 2 deliever $1,329,275 with a theater count of 102 in the second week. It realy be a game between those 2 movies and the Dutch R-rated movie New Kids Nitro and first 3D Dutch Nova zembla in between. Back in 2006, Mi3 deliever $678,153 between 1 May 2006 - 7 May 2006 with a theater count of 128. The first Sherlock Holmes in 2010 delieverd in the first 2 weeks (7 January - 17 January 2010) $2,046,620 with a theater count of 99.

    The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, this R- Rated movie (16+, but TDK get 16+ too.) wil not be released earlier then 12 January 2012. The rating and screentime (158 minutes) wil be not be the only problem, it possible wil not deliever a lot of money because it wil be consider as art house movie. In English or not. From a original Swedish story it wil be like Danish, Fin, German, Italian, Spanish, French be consider as Arthouse = select public = limited intrist. Also a movie like Tinker Taler Soldier Spy who released at the same time as Sherlock Holmes 2 get a very low theater count. The Help release date whas 29 December, mabey it wil judge as drama movie if it is lucky.

    Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked wil possible wil beat Tranformers 3 and mabey Cars 2. In my opnion Kuifje (Tin Tin) did very well. It beat Johnny English Reborn. It look like it take time before Tin Tin going to deliever. Mabey something to with the release in the USA. A bit strange also, because around christmis (25/26 December 2011) movie going to quite in the cinema soon. $4,787,909 nice numbers and with the world wide numbers with almoost more money then X-men first class we can be sjure now we get a sequel. A film (The Dutch Newline cinema) mabey be a litle bit disapointed with results of De Heineken ontvoering with Rutger Hauer.
