“Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.”
    Winston Churchill. ;)

Yes, that famous quotation came to mind for me too. Great minds and all that... :D

The best argument against dictators are the humans fulfilling the role... and so it goes for all forms of government.

And so democracy ends up to beeing the best of the bad.

There'd be nothing wrong with a Wizard dictatorship!

I'd be pretty benign although I have to confess quite a few round here would be dragged off to the camps.

I fear a Wizard Dictatorship as John Gardner's Never Send Flowers (1993) would be banned and all existing copies would be burned. I would probably be sent to the Tower of London also. :D

Not in the slightest Draggers. You would be appointed Gardner Laureate with a (reasonably) open brief to promote John's Bond works to the populace.

Its only fundamentalist NSF fans that would need to be cracked down on. The peace loving majority of mainstream NSF fans would be fine under a Wizard government.

Then again in your case I suspect MI6 might discover links to extremist NSF literature and terror cells. Youve probably even been to NSF terror training camps where they teach you how to run into a crowded shopping centre and start reading aloud from NSF to inflict the maximum suffering on defenceless civilians.

Brilliant stuff from the Wizard. :))

I'll sleep safer in bed knowing I'm a future Gardner Laureate. :D

What happens to DAD in Wizardland?

Is there a way to photoshop it out of history? If so, I'm all for this enlightened dictatorship.

Sorry for the double post, but just heard a great quote from a journalist on Sky news.
" Britain is a country divided, 50% hate the EU and want to leave. The other 50% .....
.. also hate the EU but think it's better to stay !" Just thought it was very funny. :))

    Seriously.

For one reason - leave vote would not help British film production.... just sayin'.

Interesting. We haven't discussed the potential impact on Bond.

Actually I would have thought that since the pound is likely to depreciate in value after Brexit, this would benefit the film industry, as Britain becomes more competitive as a location for making movies.

Flip side is that a weaker pound will make imports more expensive for ordinary people.

Having said that, the UK film industry seems to be doing quite well right now any way.

haha well it's good to see it all comes down to emotions, instead of actual arguments. Enjoyed that vid of May and Clarkson though.

America wants their EU intact, so they can force the TTIP on them.

If we Leave Johnson and Gove will be fast tracking a TTIP type deal with the US and the terms are likely to be even less advantageous to the UK because we will be in a weaker negotiating position

The Great Debate on the referendum is on BBC 1 in 20 minutes. This should be interesting.
