Ending sequence blooper

Ok, is this a glaring mistake or is it just me. Inside the ruins of MI6, Blofeld hits the red button & the 3 minute countdown begin. A minute later we see Blofeld get into his helicopter - but from the other side of the Thames, opposite the MI6 building. How? Is this just a badly arranged sequence or did I miss something?

    As long as Mendes got all his explosions he didn't give a crap. It's badly put together, like much of the film.

    I assumed he was escorted by boat. Not really something to look twice at.

    In 3 minutes? Sigh. The whole stupid timer thing really annoyed me. Nothing made sense about it.

    Timers have a long tradition in Bond movies, of course it made sense.
    And without a blueprint from the building no-one can say, if Blofeld's escape within one minute was realistic or not.

    Nothing in any movie will make sense if you overanalyze everything.

    The only thing I would have changed if I'd been Blofeld. Is instead of having the helicopter
    pointing at the building. I'd have got the pilot to fly it side on, to give me a great view, and I
    could flip Bond the finger as I fly off. :D
