I have watched the first three episodes of WandaVision, people are raving about it. Its OK though I know what's going on and find it pretty straight forward, other viewers seem puzzled by it I guess that the hook for them. It ties into the films so I will watch the full series.

I have just watched the episode when they are in a time loop well almost finished that episide. It's been a great show overall, it's a show I would happily rewatch from the start all the way through. TV has taken forefront because of the crisis with cinemas closrd, I am hoping they will bring it back *nudge nudge to Disney* they need content on there streaming service, wishfull thinking from me lol

Sadly i think your right? Although moving into phase 4 of the films? I would happily see the team linked back into the movies? Maybe via the Hawkeye series or Falcon & Winter Soldier show?

That would be cool, I mean Lady Sith and Nick Fury appeared in Agents of Shield so it's very possible some of the team could cross over to other shows.

Just discovered " The Brokenwood Mysteries " described by one reviewer as
New Zealand's own Midsomer Murders, Like Death in Paradise it's an easy
    going Murder mystery Series.

The New Proffesionals First episide, I never knew this existed though admittedly around this time I was out socialising a lot and at University. It only ran for one season, Edward Woodward was in it and surprisingly the stunning Lexa Doig.

I've fallen in love with a New Zealand Detective series " The Brokenwood Mysteries ".
Only four feature length episodes in each season. Six seasons available on the
UKTV app. I'm just about to start series six, so only four stories left, but I have read
that there is a series seven coming soon.
Some of the Murders are very unusual and not too difficult to solve, if you pay
attention. It's well written with some brilliant characters.

Of course he played Lee Mack's dad, I stopped watching after the earlier seasons.

I did catch some good Bobby Ball documentary's after his passing. The '...he's my mate mate' Bobby shouting from the crowd as Cannon is crooning cracks me up every time.

    Binged watched "Agent Carter"

Have to say i absolutely loved it, good plots, action and humour. Shame a third season was not green lit, especially with the after credits scene.

    The Shield

    theshieldfx.jpg

A first full re-watch of the show since I watched it on its initial run. It's a cracking show; consistently good all the way through and manages to stick its landing with a powerful final season. The writing is perfectly balanced and the performances are great. One of the things I loved about it the second time was how I constantly found myself in flux when it came to empathising with the characters. Vic Mackey is a horrible bastard; the show made that clear from episode one. But every now and then, a subplot would come along that shows off his softer, fairer side, and gave you reason to root for him - only for the show to pull the rug from under you and make you hate him again.

Being able to do that kind of character work while remaining consistent is one of the show's greatest strengths. Top quality telly.

Just finished watching a season one episode of Twelve O'Clock High called The Suspected. Damn, Robert Lansing was a great actor. AND sexier than hell, to boot!
  • Mrs. CraterGuns & I -- snowed in this week -- burned through the first season of POLDARK (2015). We loved it! (I also watched the first 8 "Sharpe" telefilms with Sean Bean. Not my spouse's cup of tea, though.)

And yeah. I think I'm in the "Aidan Turner for the next Bond" camp now. He certainly has the requisite chops for the role. And the ladies seem to like him...

    On to Season 2!*

    * Or "Series 2" as the Brits would call it. (Shakes head) POLDARK is the name of the series, people -- which is comprised of individual seasons appearing on an annual basis.

Do Brits make a point of saying something like, "I loved Series 1 of that program set in Cornwall... You know, POLDARK." (Do you have to say "programme" or "show" when referring to the series -- all five seasons -- as a whole?)

And what then, pray tell, do y'all call a MINI-SERIES??? (A mini-series is a "one-off" episodic series that is planned to have only one season of episodes, then it's done.)

I always thought American programmes were referred to as seasons because they were generally 24 episodes long and lasted over a season of the year, usually from autumn to the following spring. British TV tended to be six or eight episodes only hence a series. Of course I could be wrong

South Park 'Pandemic Special' - this got average reviews but I found it as fun as usual. In this episode, we discover who was responsible for COVID, and see why the President doesn't lift a finger to help tackle it.

Sounds as reasonable an explanation as any...

Although older Brit series, like The Avengers, have 20+ episodes per "season" and they're still called "series" (as in "Avengers series 4 & 5 feature Diana Rigg") -- by Brits, that is. (Here, The Avengers is the series and Ms. Rigg appeared in Seasons 4 & 5.)

Also, nowadays there are plenty of American TV series with only 8 to 10 episodes per season, Game of Thrones being a prime example.

Just a silly pet peeve of mine, I know. I've just wondered if Brits -- let's say an entertainment journalist -- actually say things like, "The long-running Doctor Who series is experiencing declining ratings with its current series." (???)

"Series" (for the entirety of the show) and "Season" (for annually occurring new episodes) are simply superior.

Just as, I believe, "braces" (for "suspenders") and "lift" (for "elevator") are superior...

I also like "flat" (instead of "apartment") as well... Less syllables! ;)

Maybe it's because British TV has always had more specials and stand-alone TV movies, so a series of episodes used to be more uncommon? But then again, specials and TV movies do also exist in other countries.
As for the "series of this series", I (as a non-British person) think one would then use the word programme.
