Another one? Good God, please stop watching this programme @WillyGalore and bringing this awful news to us all.

I don't have much choice. I'm on my laptop with my earphones, my partner's watching X Factor. I had to pause to listen to that song though. Bloody horrific.

Breaking Bad wasn't R rated? I assumed it was since it's an 18 over here. Quite surprised at that actually. I know there isn't much swearing in it but it was very violent.

    South Park

    This bit was brilliant

That was very brilliant. Though I wish Cartman got his comeuppance in this one.

@thelivingroyale, I'm just going off of how much cussing there is in it, along with the really sexual themes and (I think) there's been nudity.

@Creasy47 there is rarely any nudity or Sexual themes in South Park. It's more situational comedy that pokes fun at current events and pop culture. It's a lot better than family guy that's for sure.

I love 'South Park,' but I wasn't talking about that; I was speaking of 'Weeds' and it's comparison to 'Breaking Bad.'

Haha, no worries. I remember going to see 'South Park: The Movie' in theaters...

Ripper Street. Great show, Great cast, Great stories, and Great acting! As you can see? I think it's great! ;)
  • South Park

Loved this episode although I'm sure I'd enjoy it even more if I watched Game Of Thrones. Best bits

"Cmon Kyle. Let these Sony f**ks wallow in their limited voice control functionality"

"Winter's coming Sharon. And I'm a sneaky little bee. Buzz buzz"

"No, you can't die, everyone really likes you!" (sums up almost every dramatic TV character death ever).

Thoroughly deserved as well may I add. For anyone who hasn't yet had the chance to see Bean in The Accused, you're missing out on a real treat.

I thought he was robbed when he didn't win the Bafta (on a Bond related note, didn't Wishaw win?). Glad to hear he won an Emmy, very well deserved, thanks for that @WillyGalore.

Doctor Who: Delta And The Bannermen
Anywhere in time and space, so where do the Doctor and Mel end up? A holiday camp in 1950's Wales. Those Welsh quarries are looking more appealing. I do wonder, when watching this one, if Ray could have been as popular as Ace. But in the end, I think JNT made the right choice.I can find something to like in all twelve McCoy era stories, but this one is my least favourite.

    7th Doctor TV Stories Ranking:
    1. Paradise Towers
    2. Time And The Rani
    3. Delta And The Bannerman

Do you remember the tv show HIDIHI, through most of the Bannerman I expected one that show to pop up and do that awefull catchphrase.

    I prefered season 26 with
    Battlefield
    Ghostlight
    Curse of the Fenric
    Survival

They were hisbest and it is sad that there it ended for McCoy on the telly. He and the 5th & 6th Doctor did get an awefull lot of greatness with the Big Finish crowd, thank the Deity in all his wisdom.

I was 3 when Hi De Hi ended, but I've seen the odd repeat episode. Someone on the Delta And The Bannermen audio commentary even mentions Hi De Hi.

I prefer the series 25 & 26 stories too, but as a hardcore 7th Doctor fan, I can find something good in all the McCoy stories, even if it's just McCoy himself.

I have slowly been collecting the odd dvd hereand there and have 10 of the 12 serials and Must admit enjoying Ace and the Doctor. For me this Doctor came into his stride in the last season and that why it is so sad it ended then. Paradise Towers is one I still have not seen yet.

    South Park

Love the Microsoft guy being rational (it's not a "war", if some people want Playstation's that's fine), only to be stabbed by Bill Gates :)) Also liked Butters and the diabetes kid going to the Game Of Thrones writers house, that was really funny.

Missed Randy though, shame he wasn't in this episode as much as the last one.

    And I loved this

    Can't wait for part 3!

I've been getting into 'House of Cards' lately. Such a fantastic show. Along with that, I watch 'Weeds' when my girlfriend is over and I've also been revisiting 'Archer.'

Bonnie and Clyde, 4 hour two-part mini-series on A&E. Quite enjoyed this. I am sure it was heavily romanticized. Found myself cheering for Bonnie and Clyde, even when they were blowing away cops. But the cops were basically trying to execute them. Mind you the cops had good reason to be shooting first, ask questions later, with this gun-happy pair.
Such is the magic of cinema. Poor Bonnie. She couldn't catch a break. But she did get her wish. She did become famous.
Must watch the old Warren Beatty/Faye Dunaway film. I've never seen that all the way through.
As for going down in a hail of bullets, tough to best B&C's exit from this mortal coil.

    Misfits

Around the time where Alex jumped onto the flying guys back mid flight and killed him by literally fucking his power out of him, causing him to fall to his death, I realised how much I was going to miss this show.

It's not as good as it once was (the first two series can't be beaten), but it's funny, clever, moving and it's full of inspired ideas. It's the best superhero related thing I've ever seen. Why would I want to watch a plot hole ridden Batman film, a gritty reboot of Superman or yet another bloody Marvel movie when I could watch Rudy kill the electric girl by pissing himself. Loved the final line too, nice callback to Nathan.

The way they killed Rudy off only to bring him back was a bit of a cop out I thought (it was the last ever episode anyway, would've been an emotional ending if he actually died), but I didn't mind too much. Also the special effects for the flying scene were pretty poor but on the budget they have, it was probably the best they could do.

Misfits probably should've ended after series 3 but even though by this point it was past it's prime, I enjoyed it until the end and I will miss it. I hope the film rumours are true.

    Masters of Sex
I haven't been able to watch all the episodes so far, but I like it already. The performances and the atmospher are great, but the best thing there are the themes: sexuality, sexism, social issues, and specially scientific research and its ethic boundaries.

This is one of the tv series I want to watch uncut (on DVD better than on tv), along with Hannibal, Mad Men and The Good Wife.

    Mad Dogs

The first episode was funny but a bit dull, it was essentially an hour long set up for the next one. The second episode was quite good, it was more or less an hour long chase scene.

It definitely went downhill as it went on but it was always fun to watch thanks to the actors. They were all brilliant and made it enjoyable even though the show really wasn't as good as it used to be by the end.

Max Beesley (who plays Woody), explained the ending on twitter:
Bax shooting Carmen was planned, her name was a reference to some opera where a woman (called Carmen), gets killed by her boyfriend. They got shot on the beach and when they all left in Quinns car, it was their souls leaving on their journey into the after life. The poster that kept popping up meant road to nowhere, which is why the car went off the road at the end. When the car goes off the road, you don't see it go down or up, so you're not sure if they go to heaven or hell. When their souls were driving off and Bax saw himself in the Tony Blair mask, this meant that they'd bought this on themselves, that they'd caused their own deaths by making bad decisions.

How I think it should've ended: Once they were kneeling by their graves, just cut to black and then have a gunshot. It's essentially the same ending, but it's less confusing.

Currently on Season 2 of Arrested Development. Why the hell has it taken me over a decade to discover this show? Absolutely brilliant. Loving it so far.

From the Earth to the Moon

One of my favorite miniseries of all time. It shows the Apollo program (but also the Mercury and Gemini mission) from different points of view: the astronauts, the mission operators, scientists, the families involved, the journalists, ecc. That makes each episode unique instead of having the same formula of liftoff-mission-landing.
I specially like the episodes "Spider" (about the making of the LEM), "Galileo was right" (the geological training of the crews of 15 and 16) and "Le Voyage dans la lune". That last one is my favorite because of the
juxtaposition of Georges Méliès' voyage dans la lune, the first "mission", and Apollo 17, the last one.
Highly recommended! (Perhaps you'll like it, @DarthDimi, if you haven't already seen it).

Sadly I haven't, @0013 and a quick search reveals I may have trouble finding it. But since you recommend it, I'll be sure to search harder. ;-)

EDIT: found it! A reliable internet shop from Holland seems to have it. There, I ordered it. Thank you so much for the recommendation, @0013.

Never expect much from new tv shows anymore, but this was surprisingly good so far, after two episodes anyway. A new twist on the old tale in modern times nonetheless, whodathunkit?

    Eureka
    Series 5: In Too Deep
Eureka RULED start to finish IMO!

We just got done with Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and I have to say it's my favourite thing ever to come out of Japan (err, along with Godzilla & Kurosawa). It really IS one of the best Animes ever.

Nearly halfway through season one of 'Hannibal,' it's alright so far. It just moves at such a fast pace, I can't really get into it as much as I had hoped to. I'll see how I feel at the end of the season.
