V for Vendetta and the current global protests - can the film now be considered a great film?

    the writer of the source material publicly divorced himself from the film basically as a protest against the corporation that had acquired it.
    I still love the basic level of the message that persisted despite the film translation.
    Some day in the future, it will be as highly regarded as Orwell's 1984 IMHO.

    Yes, there are definite parallels between the two pieces of work.

    Great movie. My favorite line is after Creedy's henchmen have unloaded their rounds, V tilts his head ever so slightly and says: "My turn." Hugo Weaving's ability to communicate with words and body language alone is quite impressive. The truth of the power of ideas is universal. One day it will be your turn.

    Yeah but we still don't know how much of james purefoy's footage they used.

    Hugo has a great v/o throughout the film. Most excellent.

    Yes, he does a great job from behind the mask; not an easy thing for any actor to do I'd imagine.
