Is there really a contest here? The iconic first appearance of Bond which Connery nailed or muzak and eye rolling innuendoes.

The Dr No casino scene is such a sophisticated bit of film making. From the
dialogue, to the "Reveal" of Bond himself. :)

This isn't even remotely a contest. Dr. No without question.

The lack of participation in this thread and the short responses says it all really.

This may be the rare thread, in which there is total agreement. :D

Apart, I suspect, from the OP!

I loved Brosnan's intro but there's really no competing with Connery's super cool, smoke puffing reveal.

I thought this was a typo or something. Surely it's time for a lock.

Yes, lock this time wasting nonsense. The casino scene in GE should never be mentioned in the same breath as the pure awesomeness of the casino scenes in DN.

Even I, yes me, Jason, even I, despite GE being the perfect Bond movie it is, will say this to the question:

No worries, I'm just being an overreacting a-hole. No offence caused, @Szonana.

Yes i wanted for the first time to everyone agree lol, just kidding i thought it would be fun to put these two into competition because they are the two films where immortal words were said in the same enviorment.

I knew Connery would win though

    Dr. No

As much as I love Brosnan's Bond (I prefer him to Connery), I've never thought he delivered the introduction line very well. He always said it in a very breathy manner, which I don't care for. Plus, that scene in Dr. No is the distilled essence of cool.

While Brosnan does have his merits as Bond, the delivery of "the line" was never one of them. That long pause he gives us between "Bond" and "James Bond" always made me think that he was playing to it way too much to an audience, as though he were expecting some kind of ovation for delivering it.

well they were expecting that and with Connery it was brand new to the cinema so he could do no wrong.

The GoldenEye scene seemed like they were trying to get Brosnan's "Bond, James Bond" out as soon as they could. The way his eyes darted around made it obvious that he was receiving cues for the line, too. Nonetheless, his performance is quite good, but considerably outmatched by Connery's.
