Vegas 1 and 2 two classic games recently got them on Xbox One backward compatibility, I played them for hours on 360.
But fortunately not like Phantom Pain-- updates are coming.
As of right now, it's download only and just multiplayer (and even that's full of bugs) but once the 'whole' game is out I'll probably get it.
I put so much time into these games. Spent months on GameBattles doing competitive professional matches, had a pretty great group of players.
I still have not completed Vegas 2 yet I pick it up now and then, Vegas 2 is very immersive game. I bought Rainbowsix Siege years ago and still only played the training level.
I picked up 'Siege' and spent most of my time playing Terrorist Hunt by myself. It was pretty fun, but had nowhere near the replayability/fun that the 'Vegas' series had, particularly online. Played maybe a few online matches to get as many trophies as I could, and that was enough for me.
Pretty much all my online gaming time is spent with 'Overwatch' now.
I have a habit of buying alot of games and if they don't immediately grab my attention they end up collecting dust on my hard drive, I'll have to give Siege another go at some point.
I've still got quite the backlog of games; I enjoy sinking a lot of time into one and completing as much of it as I can before I move on to another. So currently, I have the single-player 'Skyrim Remaster' to work through on the PS4, and then when I need a change of pace/scenery and I'm still in the mood for a game, I pop in 'Overwatch.' So many other games sitting in my drawer/on my hard drive that I need to get around to.
I have one of the Elder Scrolls online games Tamriel unlimited, I play it now and again admittedly I don't know much about the Skyrim games. Recently I have been playing old games on my PC more than Xbox One, I am a minecraft addict which takes up alot of gaming time.
The 'Elder Scrolls' series is one of my favorites. I spent a ridiculous amount of time playing the 'Elder Scrolls Online' you just described, but I hit a wall eventually with how burnt out I was on it, so took a real lengthy break. I have the 'Gold Edition' now or whatever that has all the DLC (sans the newest one for Morrowind), looking forward to returning to it in the future. Was very fun.
That's right, their intention is to release the singleplayer/physical components later in the summer.
I'll have to get Skyrim titles I need a game to get hooked on. I ended up getting most of the Battlefront DLC they look great though the novelty wore of quick, I am happy Battlefront 2 will have a campaign.
At this rate, I'm not sure if I'm going to get it. I bet it's a blast, but are there really that many people playing this game? I can also easily see people quitting nonstop once they join a match and die, because they won't want to wait for the match to complete. All of that, on top of the ridiculously grindy trophies they added, and I think I'm going to sidestep this one, as much as I wanted to play it.
@fire_and_ice, you should definitely check out 'Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion' and 'Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.' They're both available on last-gen consoles, whereas the latter also has a remastered edition available for next-gen consoles.
Be wary with that 'Battlefront 2' campaign: it was only incorporated due to fan backlash, and I have a feeling they'll go the exact same route they did with BF1, where instead of a fleshed out campaign, it's mini "story missions" you complete as miscellaneous characters part of this grand war. People ate that up in BF1, but I thought it was lazy and forgettable. I'd sooner have no campaign than a half-assed one.
That's the downside of multiplayer, people not playing by the rules. It's a pity that a AAA developer never made a Friday The 13th game in recent years. I've said it before, but it could be done, just look at Capcoms Haunting Ground.
Not interested in online multiplayer, that side of the game was never going to appeal to me. But with the singleplayer being a separate entity (or so it seems), maybe that will have it's own trophy list that doesn't involve tedious grinding. But looking at the structure of the game, unless they start from the ground up, i'm not sure how a single player game can be made from the current multiplayer game.
Even still, playing 1,000 matches as Jason AND playing 1,000 matches as a counselor for two SILVER trophies, of all things, is completely absurd and ridiculous. That screams "I doubt many people will line up for this, so we better make these trophies as grindy as possible for the trophy hunters."
I'll take note of that regarding Battlefront 2 would be nice just to have a playable game, I will have a look on Xbox Gold and see if I can pick up any of the Elder Scrolls you mentioned.
I'm starting to feel that it might not be the F13 game for me.
Agreed, and it's a big shame because not only was I really excited for it ever since the Kickstarter was announced, but it's likely the only F13 game we'll ever get, especially if this one is as poor as most are saying.
Oddly enough, there was another Kickstarter-backed game, some online-only WWII shooter that seemed incredibly fun. I didn't dive into it day one, wanted to wait for reviews, and sure enough, most thought it was mediocre/piss-poor, and it also come with a ridiculous amount of trophies that would've taken a solid 100 hours plus, if not more. Can't stand it.
It's kind of exciting that anyone, even an amateur programmer in his basement, could now have the opportunity to take their ideas beyond the idea stage to become a fully marketable game through people's donations. On the other hand, you entrust people with your money who may not actually be certified or experienced with game development, and that can lead to a shoddy product.
I don't know what happened with F13, but it is certainly unpolished and rather jittery in performance, from what I've seen.
I don't think I'd ever have the stones to independently develop a game through public funding. When you do that, you just give people a free chance to sue you for all you're worth. If someone ended up not liking what you made, they could take you to court for false advertising, or could argue that you used their funds irresponsibly, whether you deserved it or not.
There have been several Kickstarters (or related donation-esque websites) that have created a product and totally shafted the customers as those involved ran away with big bags of money. It's why I'll never contribute, no matter how fun the product seems.
Yes, I've read those horror stories. You want to trust people and give them the benefit of the doubt, but at the same time, it's hard to make that leap, especially for a cynic like me.
Knowing my luck, the first one I'd contribute to would be the one where everyone got shafted and robbed blind. I'll pass on that.
At another point, you are required to visit a theater on board the station. I saw this movie poster and thought it seemed pretty Bondian;
Notice one of the actors names is "Robin Moore" at the bottom. I've seen other posters in this game that make intentional references to real actors by using similar sounding names, so I bet this is a purposeful reference to good ol' Roger.
Good point. It's quite possible, especially considering the fact that the first mention of the Golden Gun happens literally seconds after walking past this poster.
