Agreed. The problem in the list is that they are mixing two different things which, although not necessarily mutually exclusive, are not synonymous.
1. Casino Royale
2. Batman Begins
3. Star Trek
Prequel
1. The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (prequel of sort, even thought it's been said that Leone didn't intend the movies to be connected)
2. Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom
3. SW-ROTS
4. SW-AOTC
5. SW-TPM
Batman Begins
Star Trek
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Amazing Spider-man
Batman Begins
Casino Royale
Revenge of the Sith
The Sum of All Fears
The Amazing Spider-Man
Four reboots, one prequel.
Ah, Revenge of the Sith. I forgot about that one, best of I-III.
Yes it was.
top 5 reboots/remakes..
1. Casino Royale
2. Batman Begins
3. Halloween (2007)
4. Night Of The Living Dead
5. Cape Fear
top 5 prequels..
1. Prometheus
2. Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes
3. The Hobbit
4. X-Men First Class
5. The Good The Bad and The Ugly
Batman Begins
Manhunter
Star Trek
Godfather 2
all of those are not prequels
i dont even really consider Temple Of Doom a sequel - yes, it's set before the events of Raiders, but it really shares no connection with Raiders in any way - its sort of it's own thing... kind of like The Good The Bad and The Ugly, it's only a prequel in the eyes of fans, who only 'think' it is - there is no confirmation that it officially is one.. but seeing as how that is the popular consensus, i'll let it slide - along with TOD, i guess...
but 3 of the 5 above mentioned films are reboots - NOT prequels..
Manhunter was made before SOTL was made, how in the hell does that make it a prequel??? Because people werent as familiar with it until 'Lambs came out??.. thats just idiocy.... maybe they got this confused with Red Dragon??.. who knows..
The Godfather 2 IS a sequel, but often times flashes back to show Vito's rise to power, and how it mirrors/contrasts with Michael's... it's not a prequel.
whoever wrote this article is a moron.
I think The Godfather 2 is a partial prequel, and what makes it so brilliant is how the prequel part works so well with the sequel part.
Favorite Reboots:
1. Casino Royale
2. Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (not technically a reboot, but for all intents and purposes)
3. Battlestar Galactica
4. Batman Begins (Mainly because of how poor the Schumacher films were).
5. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (if it is, in fact, a reboot).
Casino Royale
Star Trek
First Class
Star Wars episodes 1 - 3
Does Batman '89 count as a reboot? Considering that a previous Batman feature film had been released in 1966 with Adam West.
More an adaptation from the same source.
1. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
2. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (yes, I do consider it a prequel)
3. X-Men: First Class
4. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith
5. Rise of the Planet of the Apes (if it is, in fact, a prequel to the Heston film)
If not, it's a reboot, and that still fits in this thread.
