Like I said Goldneye deserves to be top 5 even top 4 but 1 sorry no. Especially as there were a lot of mechanics and cool things that appears in later games that are lacking here for example

Driving levels: the tank is fun but hardly counts
Weapon selection and silencer: again considering the way twine n64 gun selection works yeah sorry it's better then Goldeneye there I said it

And other games do what goldeneye does but better sorry in terms of importance and nostalgia top 5 yes top 3 pushing it but ok but number 1 nope not even close for me it's a battle between Nightfire and Bloodstone

Bloodstone has the better story and Daniel Craig (who I prefer over Brosnan sorry Brosnan fans)

Night fire has better level design (specifically all of Austria so the party the car chase even the on rails bits are nice and the stealth level)

It's really a toss up as to which I would prefer (was super excited about a rumored Nightfire reloaded Untill I found out it was a fan made mod and they ran out of money so the project was half completed)

I don't think we can judge old games by new game standards fairly. It rarely gets done for the films for qualities where the newer installments provide elements that were either uninvented or uncharted territory at the time of its predecessors. Goldeneye was a ground-breaking game and the standard of quality and replication for a generation. The newer titles may have some small bells and whistles, but they offer nothing on the greater scope of things that non-007 games offer.

Goldeneye is one of the most important games ever released. The rest are just sub par shooters that couldn't compete with the top tier games of their generation.

It's not about the graphics, TWINE was built on what GoldenEye laid the foundations for. TWINE, AUF, NightFire - none of them would exist without GoldenEye.

That is correct. As much as I enjoy the others, they certainly weren't revolutionary in their times.

It is true that TWINE had better graphics that GE, but TWINE was produced near the end of the N64's lifetime. By that point, developers had worked out tricks to get better graphics out of the anemic hardware; techniques that hadn't been discovered at the time of GE. Such tricks included using the N64 expansion pak (which doubled the RAM) to get better graphics (you'll see the option to up the graphics in TWINE's menu if you have the pak). GE couldn't utilize this feature as the expansion pak wasn't released until 1998, after GE's August 1997 release. So, some of TWINE's graphical superiority does come from better hardware, even though both were designed for the same system.

But from the looks of it, Nightfire reloaded would have been based off of the vastly inferior PC version.
