Aren’t all four films supposed to be centered around one member of the group per film? Wouldn’t have been easier to make this a trilogy of films spanning from their formation to their break-up? Certainly seems like an easier way at exploring the band rather than the approach Mendes is taking.

I can imagine it’ll do a Rashomon approach where for scenes where all four members are together we’ll see different points of view of how things went down in each film. The films won’t entirely be that, since the members had their own separate lives and experiences before and after the band. I do admire Sony for taking a chance at this. It’ll even be interesting to see how each of the films do at the box office. I’m sure John and Paul’s will be the top two.

Also I hope Deakins is a part of this.

Obviously, I also don't know anything about filmmaking and I guess there are intricacies to producing for cinema, but making roughly 8 to 12 hours of good material in a short-ish amount of time and releasing it all in a month or even a day isn't some totally unheard of thing. It's a TV show.

Yeah, as I said, it's kind of like they're trying the 'bingeing' model out in a cinema; could be a solid idea.

It does feel more of a limited series idea, doesn't it? It's ambitious for sure. I guess we'll have to wait and see how it all turns out.
