Good work. You've done something I've purposefully chosen not to do, because I know that I can't. I'm complete sh*t on MGS1 Snake's levels. The only VR mission Trophy I cared about was the one for beating a VR or Alternative mission.
Some day, I have to actually buy the HD Collection. I just want it to lower its g*ddamn price below $20 one of these days!
Speaking of-- now that the dust has settled and we've had some time to reflect on all the news of Phantom Pain, does anyone agree that David Hayter is totally in the game (at the very least in a Solid Snake cameo)? Remember how Kojima loves to tease us and trick us
I have not beat MGS4 in the time frame Brady, that achievement is very tough. I have never even tried......
which is totally f*cked up and doesn't really tell you jack sh*t, but still... A YouTuber called YongYea (or something along those lines, he's seems to believe that "Every gamer needs an Asian") dissected this trailer. Back before we knew Phantom Pain was MGSV, we were always trying to find connecting tissue, and this has some.
1) It mentions a "Project Omega", involving test subjects, and the Ground Zeroes trailer had "Camp Omega" and, by all rights, Chico looked like a damn test subject sitting in that cage waiting for his Walkman.
2) It was actually live action footage that anybody can find on the internet, commissioned by the government (something about being inside a reactor, I think), but Metal Gear games haven't been shy about using live action footage for sequences in the game (or for trailers, ala Rising).
3) There's some weird music playing throughout the whole thing that, while played backwards, is strikingly similar to Psycho Mantis' hymn from MGS1.
Now, of course, all of this would have been nice to know before the reveal, but I didn't know about it before then.
I would, if I had the money, but I just recently spent it on the Zone of the Enders HD Collection (purely to stroke my ego, because other than that, I had every other ZOE game and anime), and now I've got to wait until after I get Resident Evil Revelations when its console release comes out. Ah... not having a job... it's sad... so sad... a host of sorrows...
I had no problem with the bandana, it was the stealth that pissed me off something crazy. I was in this area on Act 1, between when the rebel tank is introduced and before it's destroyed by the DeadFOXCobraHOUNDCell Unit (otherwise known as the Beauty and the Beast Unit). I had made friends with the rebels, they weren't a problem, and I'd found a hiding place that I was sufficiently sure no one would find me. I slowly took down the enemies, one by one, then, from literally out of nowhere, an enemy shows up on top of a building and spots me, forcing me to do the whole damned area over again!
After that, everything else was easy. Act 2 had plenty of places to hide, and great camo options. Act 3 is always easy to sneak around in (on Liquid Easy). Act 4 is a damn breeze once you have the bandana (infinite Chaff Grenades!!!). And Act 5 just requires you to hide under the deck for a little bit, then climb up above the deck for a while, find a way to destroy or confuse a Gekko without raising an alarm, and then you open a door and the sneaking part's over.
Operation Snake Eater Completed 2/28/12
I swore to God I played it more recently than that!!!
But, no, apparently the last time I played MGS3 was over a year ago. This tells me that, aside from a couple of trophies on the HD Collection when I was borrowing it from my friend, I haven't played the series in quite some time. And now, April 30th is coming up - I need to play MGS2 again soon! How the hell did all of this sneak up on me?!

Speculation?
Twin Snakes was pretty awesome though. I sold my Game Cube years ago but I still hung onto that game! Why can't GoldenEye get a HD release like that???
I'm in love with this woman :x
*What's really funny is that if a girl dressed like Raiden she'd look accurate as hell! :D
That chick above looks like the actual love child of Big Boss and Eva.
The difference between Twin Snakes and Resident Evil is that Resident Evil was a true improvement. It added new weapons, new storyline sections, a far better script, and just plain more of what made the original 1996 classic work (and improved the voice acting).
Twin Snakes simply took MGS1 and gave it MGS2's gameplay. The guard routes were the same (though a couple of guards were added), the bosses were defeated in exactly the same way (though the Ninja and Liquid boss fights were shortened), and first-person view just destroyed it by making everything too easy. The voice acting suffered (everybody sounds bored in Twin Snakes, with the exception of Mei Ling). And don't even get me started on all the g*ddamn bullet time... As far as I'm concerned, the only canon part of Twin Snakes is the Ninja slaughtering all the guards outside Otacon's lab, that's it, and that's only because its counterpart in the original was Snake walking into the hallway saying "It looks like they were cut by some type of blade".
*currently cosplaying as a guard who's found a magazine on the floor*
Something tells me that, whatever this "Legacy Collection" is, it'll simply be a rerelease of the HD Collection, MGS4, and a download voucher for MGS1 on the PSN. Maybe they'll throw in Portable Ops for good measure, but that's doubtful.
I also heard about the new MGS collection coming out. It will include MGS1, MGS2, MGS3, and MGS4. I am glad this is coming out so it will give people an opportunity to play these games in there entirety. Too bad it won't include Peace Walker. Not available on Xbox!!!! :)) :)) :))
Good job, man! Maybe, someday when I feel my gaming skills are truly up to it, I'll go for the platinums. Maybe.
If you're referring to the Legacy Collection, it's contents are as follows:
Metal Gear Solid & Metal Gear Solid VR Missions (something tells me that Integral will finally be coming overseas)
Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty HD Edition
Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater HD Edition Including Metal Gear & Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake
Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots Trophy Edition (in other words, the game with the Trophy patch)
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker HD Edition
Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel
Metal Gear Solid Digital Graphic Novel 2
And, no, it's not available on the 360, thanks to MGS1 and Guns of the Patriots. This'll be the first time anywhere outside of Japan has received Digital Graphic Novel 2, so I hope it has English voice acting. If you haven't read either MGS graphic novel, go buy them or download them online, because they're decent reads with good artwork.
They did. Sons of Liberty HD contains all 350 VR Missions, all 150 Alternative Missions, all 5 Snake Tales, Casting Theater, Boss Survival, 2001 and 2002 Dog Tag sets. They simply call it Sons of Liberty HD Edition because the core game is called Sons of Liberty. Same for why they called MGS3 the Snake Eater HD Edition, even though it contains the majority of the things from Subsistence (it does, however, omit Snake Vs. Monkey, the Secret Theater, Duel Mode and the already dead Metal Gear Online).
Piece of Cake
Complete a VR or Alternative mission
No Boss of Mine
Complete Boss Survival
In It to Win It
Place first in 50 different VR/Alternative missions
Virtually Impossible
Complete all VR and Alternative missions
Tell Me a Tale
Complete all Snake Tales
If you're playing the 360 version, all I just listed but In It to Win It are available as Achievements. HD MGS2 is Substance, they just don't call it such.
