Also, I'm delighted that HGW is returning.

This make me very happy. his music has added a new dimension to the series. Some of my favorite tracks from him include:

    MGS2 Main Theme
    Opening Infiltration
    Twilight sniping
Comradeship (probably his best! The way it builds up with the scene is incredible)
    Battle In The Base
Metal Gear Solid Main Theme (Metal Gear Solid 3 Version)
    Clash With Evil Personified
    Sidecar- Escape From The Fortress
    Old Snake
    Metal Gear Saga
G*ddamnit, Kojima, stop making me wait! MY MONEY WANTS THIS NOW!!!!!

Abvsolutely!!! Its keeps getting better and better for me as I view more footage!!

I think anybody actually paying attention to the footage is saying that. This game is gonna bring in a sh*tload of new Metal Gear fans.

I hope so. Could you imagine finding this new game at this point in the series, and having the adventure of going through all the material for the first time...it would be mind blowing!

The only problem I can see there is people being introduced into the series in such a big game, then going into all the other games and thinking that they're too small.

    English trailer

First impressions are, I am underwhelmed by the voice acting. Everyone sounds somewhat similar and.....generic. There was no sense of gravitas at all for me. So far, I am unimpressed with the voice acting but I'm still looking forward to this game and I do hope the VA gets better as this little snippet isn't much to go on considering the expansiveness of the game but for now, I'm a little disappointed.

I'm going to reiterate my earlier statement and say
G*ddamnit, Kojima, stop making me wait! MY MONEY WANTS THIS NOW!!!!!

    once again.

Now, onto my notes about the trailer.

I was hoping to see some gameplay, too, even though we've seen plenty of GZ gameplay recently (and a little Phantom Pain gameplay), but I still wanted to see some English gameplay. As it stands, I wasn't surprised to see the opening cutscene of Ground Zeroes. It's been a year since it was first unveiled, and it still looks as beautiful as ever (though, because my laptop's pretty old, I had to tone down the HD on that video), even if I was a little underwhelmed by whoever the hell is playing Skull F*ck (Skull Face! I meant Skull Face!). (Note: If you ever play Syphon Filter Dark Mirror, listen to the main bad guy, Singularity, because Skull Face sounds a lot like him.) Robin Atkin Downes gave his usual performance as Miller, and I'm not surprised to see Antony Del Rio, Tara Strong and Christopher Randolph returning (your reasons behind David Hayter's replacement are dwindling, Kojima...). Kiefer Sutherland did a decent job as Big Boss, but I can't hide the fact that I'm used to David Hayter. It was especially odd to hear Jack Bauer saying "Kept you waiting, huh?". About as odd as it was to hear Solid Snake saying "Great shot kid, that was one in a million!" in the MGS2DGN (he also said it a little too fast). Once I hear him say "Dammit!" I'll probably be right at home with his voice, but until then...

I noticed that amid the new cast and crew credits, the title "Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes" was now absent. I wonder if this is to hint at both Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain being released on the same disc.

Overall, Ground Zeroes just seems like more of the same Peace Walker-type stuff. Just like any Metal Gear game (with the exception of Rising, which I had to force myself to play), I can't wait to play this. One thing I hope for is that Major Zero (which I briefly misspelled "Zeroes", and not on purpose) actually put in an appearance, and not as a quadriplegic vegetable.

Looks good to me. I will definitely have to get used to Sutherland's voice as Big Boss, but I am hoping Hayter will return as Solid Snake in the end of the game. Graphics look mind blowing on 1080 HD. This is gonna be a gem!

This one's going on the wish list. Looks like it's going to be the most innovative MGS game yet.

Innovative, large, ambitious. These three words describe MGSV.

My favorite would be Tactical, Espionage, Action. ;)

Operations. MGSV had the "Tactical Espionage Operations" tag that Peace Walker had.

    Okay, a couple of tidbits.

    1) Rising's digital download price has now been cut, and you get the DLC free! This is probably the closest Rising is ever getting to a Substance/Subsistence release, so get it while it takes a sh*tload of time to download!

    2) Ground Zeroes will be released Spring 2014, with a likely Fall 2014 release for The Phantom Pain. It seems Ground Zeroes will actually be a disc-based release, as well as a download, so who else is joining me in paying for a glorified Tanker Chapter before having to wait for the Plant?

That's stupid. Just put both parts of the game together then release it. Either way it's going to be irrelevant to me since I'm getting a Wii U. but still that's not right. It's like paying for the Virtuous Mission before having to pay for Operation Snake Eater.

Do you not have a PS3/360? It's on current gen as well as next gen (I'm happy with 30fps instead of 60fps).

Sadly no. Game Consoles are getting more and more out of my price range. However in the End I'm settling down with Wii U because I'm a die hard Mario fan. However I'll still play the first three Metal Gear Solid titles.

I understand. I stick with whatever consoles key Metal Gear and Resident Evil games are on, because those are the only two series I follow religiously (though I've yet to buy Rising, I have played it, and beaten it).

Yeah. I love MGS, but I follow Mario, James Bond Games, not so much resident evil now and Metal Gear games. Recently though, I have been giving MGS3 a nice run as I'm trying to unlock everything.

That doesn't take as long as it probably should. I miss the dog tags. Hell, I had fun hunting them down in Twin Snakes, and they don't even do anything.

Well I have all the unlockable Boss camouflage uniforms and almost all the face paints. I'm trying to unlock both the Unlimited Ammo facepaint and Stealth Camo unit (Though Non-Alert methods in the same turn this time.)

I love how easy the Infinity Facepaint is to unlock. Good luck on no alerts. I get them when I am using the Stealth camo.

Got any tips for collecting mouse traps? I can't seem to find any besides the one at the base before the Ocelot battle.

A couple of food storage warehouses have them (that one, the Graniny Gorki: Warehouse) and just a couple of places where they just spawn in a corner that you're likely not to go toward on any playthrough whatsoever. You get them back when you pick the captured animals up, though.

So, it's finally made crystal clear that GZ and TPP are having separate releases. I think it's stupid but as a die hard MGS fan, I'll be buying it and yes, GZ better be an over glorified version of MGS2's tanker level.

There's some talk of Ground Zeroes also shipping with The Phantom Pain later in the year. If that's the case, I'll probably buy the digital release of Ground Zeroes (save $10, after all) so that I can experience it when it's released, and then get it on a disc with The Phantom Pain.

I just want and NEED for this game to be epic. For me, the last excellent MGS game was snake eater. MGS4 was great but the tone and atmosphere felt too...different and not in a good way. I really pray Kojima went back and studied the underlying peripherals as to what made MGS1 great in the first place.

I happened to enjoy MGS4, but I feel that it was too epic before its time. If MGS4 were being made now, with the FOX Engine, it'd be right at home. MGSV should, hopefully, fill the void that I feel MGS4 was meant to fill, in terms of escalating things.

I think MGS2 was extremely epic way ahead of its time but it still looked and felt like a MGS game. I think this is so because Kojima was still focused on creating a classic MGS experience whereas now, post MGS3 I just feel Kojima's trying to over commercialise the series, which I felt started with the hiring of Ryan Payton some years back.
