@Agent_99, I strongly suggest reading the series (Rivers of London) by Aaronovitch in order.
They have a unique voice and are a real treat. Bit magical, but more than that.

Wilt on High by Tom Sharpe. The third of, I think 5 Wilt books. And possibly the last ‘good’ Wilt book. Although I’ve Yet to read The Wilt Inheritance which I can only hope is a notch up from Wilt in Nowhere , time will tell.

I am currently reading The Ethereal Astro-Mystical Phlogiston by Annie Besant.

Just kidding! I'm reading Marlborough: England's Fragile Genius, by Richard Holmes and Annie Besant. It's heavy-going at times but provides an exhaustive look at the man rightly regarded as Britain's greatest sorceror general. The author, Mr. Besant Holmes, is a warlock military historian and expert in all aspects of the occult war.

I've got a lot of affection for Croydon Airport as it's just down the road from me. (The visitors' centre is open on the first Sunday of every month, entry is free, and it's very interesting if you like aircraft and/or Art Deco.)

Do you like codes, hidden symbols, secret organisations and Stanley Kubrick? Read David Kahn. The Code Breakers.

Chronicling the history of cryptography from ancient Egypt to the time of its writing (1967). The United States government attempted to have the book altered before publication. What now?

Ooooh one for the conspiracy theorists or coincidence theorists.

Kubrick said if you wanted to know how the world works and is controlled, simply read this book. The man was a big insider and gave us eyes wide shut the true nature of the elite or did he?

I've read bits of that one myself. Orwell is always great. I have a collected book of his essays somewhere too.

I probably would! I am ashamed to admit that I haven't read many of Orwell's essays. Which is weird, since I think essays are often more enjoyable than fiction.
