Very funny story! I don't doubt it's true, however, I don't think the Komodo scene is the right one. regardless of what the video may say, his hands look pretty real to me.....

    It may be true, but they're definitely wrong with the scene.

    It's not the Shanghai casino scene, it's the Shanghai building scene.

    Check out the promo photos of Bond with leather gloves (the very first ones that were out), and compare with the fact he doesn't wear gloves in the movie when he holds the gun when he follows Patrice in the building.

    So the fact they "forgot" at the beginning of the shooting with the jellyfish set that the gun needed the palm print to work could be true. I've some experience with movie sets, and I've never seen the actors change their clothes for an in-set promo shoot... It's done in the continuity of the shooting. So they might have shot the scenes with gloves, yes.

    They shot a little scene of Bond removing his gloves to check Q's gun before entering the building, and it was indeed shot far later, we know that.

    Now about the CG replacement of the gloves with a CG hand : well it's IMO possible, but they were lucky this scene happens in the shadows, so it's hard to judge on the movie itself (the face replacement in the fight is more obvious, but it's because there you have light).

    But if it's true, then this Shanghai building scene is a very CG scene ! First a 3D Bond under the elevator, then this hand, then the face replacement, then the 3D Patrice, wow :)

    Interesting. The above promo shot is definitely not in the final film.

    i don't know for sure, but it may be a CG hand indeed. But the lighting is so unusual it's hard to say.

    But I've looked at the scene again, and Bond puts back his gloves off screen just before fighting Patrice... and the gloves are needed for the "Bond can't hold Patrice's hand" ending.

    Well, for years we've wondered why the Hitchockian Patrice fall in the trailer was turned into a blatant 3D CG in the final movie. This glove/no glove stuff may be true and hint at the fact these scenes were quite a mess in the making ?

    I think it's more accurate to say *could have* cost millions (to reshoot the scene) had it not been for the CGI solution. Meanwhile, the scene already had CGI, i.e. the "dragon."

    Bizarre claim. So strange it could be true! ;) But Bond doesn't tend to wear gloves in casinos so it sounds a bit unlikely.

    Which scene is it really if the tale is true? The Casino or the fisticuffs in tower block? DC's hands do look CG lego hands in the Dragon pit 100%

    I can't see Bond wearing gloves in the casino, it would be a bit awkward placing
    Chips for gambling, or drinking the old Martini. :D not to mention eating a bag of
    Crisps.

    The Bond on set book has several photos of the casino filming, and Daniel Craig isn't wearing gloves in any of them. (I suppose they CGI'd them out for the book, too, right? :) )

    Yeah, maybe mistaken with the scene, like @Suivez_ce_parachute mentioned earlier in this thread. So the story might not be completely false.

    No that was only in the trailer. They later removed them. Cost them millions...

    Here is some BTS footage of the casino scenes, where it is clear Dan did not wear gloves at all during the shoot. Starting from 12:30:

    Obviously, the author meant to refer to the Shanghai sequence.

    I'm amazed that each time someone claim to have an insider info like the original twitter guy, many are shouting "obvious hoax" here. Check how many times the scoops given on this forum here turned out to be true or mostly true.. 80/90 % ?

    Well, at 10:27 of the B-Roll he wears gloves while they're shooting on the jellyfish set. But since in the movie gloves appear suddenly just before the fight, it doesn't prove anything about the use of CG or not.

    On the other hand, if it is an hoax, well you have to admit it turned out to be incredibly lucky it was about something as hard as to spot in SF as the watch knuckle-duster in CR.

    I couldn't take my Rising Sun eye off here - seriously watch Collider for movie goss and news but she annoys the hell out of me as she can't say Mutant properly - she misses the first T every time. It really grinds my gears.
