Yep, that was a lot of work tracking down the books with limited resources.
I remember one summer visiting relatives in Quebec. They gave me a spare bedroom, and what did I find therein....a paperback copy of the elusive FYEO. What a find, but I only had two days to read it before we left. Pulled two virtual all-nighters trying to get the thing read, hunkered under the covers reading by flashlight.
What fun! Bond v Shape, the Risico adventure. Death in the Seychelles. Bond comes to Canada and meets with the RCMP in Ottawa in FYEO, that fascinating story that Bond is told in Bahamas, and the big reveal, the woman was sitting with them the whole time.
A great thing about reading Fleming as an impresionable young guy is he takes one around the world to exotic locations, one is learning about for the first. Fleming had a way of really putting the reader in the location.
The underwater world as described in Hildebrand was fascinating.
Only my opinion of course. Given the fact that they are all acting the role it remains obvious to me that the only two who are really capable of making a successful transition from on screen to off screen violence are Lazenby & Connery. For me I can't separate them in terms of who would be best but my nose tells me that during their prime they both would be good to have on my side in a bar brawl.
As for the others they are just acting yet manage to convince in the role with varying degrees of success. The most convincing actor is Craig followed by Dalton then Moore with Brosnan never leaving the starting gate.
As said I have come into contact with many truly dangerous people in my time & developed a nose for the ones who I should be wary of - those who would slug or sucker punch without provocation & those who are urine & wind. I' not speaking about weekend warriors here - the drunken 'street fighters spurred on by gallons of booze but men who do that kind of thing for a living.

Great thing going on here!
As for @Szonana 's voting result, I can guarantee it is the real deal and nothing is tactical with that vote. She LOVES Pierce's movies and Sean's.
That Top 10 of her exists longer than I am on this site. Just so you know.
DAD isn't at all as bad as its obvious reputation (on forums). Sans the ridiculously bad CGI and maybe the invisible car, DAD would very well fit in the middle of rankings.
Personally I find DAD infinitely better than dreary TWINE.
Thank you so much @BondJasonBond006 ;-).
2. GE
3. CR
4. TND
5. FYEO
6. DAD
7. LTK
8. SP
9. OHMSS
10. GF
Pity no points for NSNA yet. To me it's a more superior film than DAD :| . EON or non-EON........in a similar poll I held in the IMDB-forums last year, NSNA ended on a respectable 18th spot out of 26 films. So this does tell something....
I think if we were voting for the whole 26 in order NSNA would do better.
I see the Brosnan fans are coming out of the woodwork...
I jest - anyone who has TWINE at the top of their list, is alright by me.
Or: Those are not typical Bond nerds like we are ;-). Perhaps they are more generic movie lovers :-).

"DAD isn't at all as bad as its obvious reputation (on forums). Sans the ridiculously bad CGI and maybe the invisible car, DAD would very well fit in the middle of rankings."
Absolutely true (for example the sword fight is fantastic)...but the CGI in the second part is really unforgivable. I could cry every time I have to watch that.
@BondJasonBond
Ofcourse it wasn't tactics and thanks for defending me, but dont worry it flatered me they thought i did it place it at top as a strategy, makes me look as the mastermind villain of this furum lol.
the Elektra king of the Bond fans. but the reality is more boring since i did just placed DAD so high because i truly loved it
Yes, four people on page 6 for example.

Potato/Potato ;)
@Gustav_Graves, there's a saying "potato, potahto," much like "tomato, tomahto" that simply expresses that two or more people are viewing the same thing in a different way. In this case, how Bond films should be ranked.
