quote from the website....
---------------------------------
Why So Terrible: The likes of On Her Majesty’s Service and From Russia With Love are but a distant memory. This odd Bond title rightly received reactions like “Eh?” and “What the-?!” from a very confused public.

IT'S CALLED A DICTIONARY YOU IDIOTS - IT EVEN HAS IT'S OWN WEBSITE!! - TRY USING IT!! ~X(
at time of release many people did question QOS as a feasible Bond title, regulars and neutrals in equal measure, a majority of people didn't even understand the title and made as much sense as Tomorrow Never Dies as one such example
Says #1 is a release called Ssssss or something, never heard of it strangely enough
If I have a quick look around my own movie collection I could maybe come up with one or two questionable titles without giving too much away
Face/Off, Dirty Harry, Blair Witch Project, Fish called Wanda etc, you get the idea
(You can add any Steven Seagal release of the last eight years that I don't own but don't tell him I said that)
That, and the fact that Fleming's words are divine.
"Minor Consolation"?
, but just not understanding the meaning of a perfectly good English word doesn't make a title bad. It just means too many lack proper education.
I thought it was a brilliant title and fit perfectly as a direct sequel to Casino Royale as after the betrayal and loss of vesper Bond is looking for Solace some reason to keep on going. sure they might of not accurately depicted that in the film mind you but still Wilson's reason for choosing the title makes sense to me.
and I guess I'm the only person who thought Live Free or Die Hard was clever , I wonder what total film will think of when they see A Good Day to Die Hard.
Strange is mabey a better name for the list.
Live Free Or Die Hard. Die Hard 4.0 should be higher in the list
Also there be some titles in the list who not be strange or worse but i think there at in the list because there don't like the movie. like Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties, xxx and I stil know what you did last summer.
this site mentions Quantum of solace and Octopussy...
one question who wanted Risico over Quantum of solace as this site claims we all did at least QOS means something.
"Quantum" is quite a cool sounding word, and a nice touch to also use the word for the name of the new nemesis organisation
"Solace" sounds sort of sophisticated and literary, unfortunately the movies script was not...
:-S
The living daylights and tommorow never dies are also bad.
I felt the film did not live up to the title potential however, threw the basic meaning of it out the window in my opinion.
Shame.
