but even the villain could be my No 2 actually, after Scaramanga.

The film DN itself would rank somewhere in 9-11 range. I believe it was 10th in my 2016 ranking, I will be doing my 2017 ranking tomorrow as it's the last day to do so!

I think Dr No is a GREAT Bond villain. In the top 5 for me.

I just love how the film moves fast again, almost makes me wish some of the future films would have been a bit shorter.

I love the heating vent escape.

Me, too. Especially the later Craig films I think would have benefited from a shorter run time.

He still touches the vented grate. Should have been shocked again as it looks like its still connected!

Not sure, though I would imagine so.

Bond's torn shirt is very Fleming to me.

I don't think so. This looks like the same guy who plays him in the shark pool in TB.

I'll have to pause sometime as he tumbles and see if there's a good shot of his face.

In the book he deduces that he's shorted it out with the first one. Hard to cover that without having him awkwardly talk to himself, so I'll give it a pass.

    Haha! Very fair.

    I had the same thought.

Or the circuit is broken when he breaks the grate off. Like how an insulated electric fence wire on a farm can be interrupted by touching the charged wire with an object.

I do look how worn Bond looks here. A common trope in Fleming was Bond having to go through a lot of physical stress.

Not sure of DN or GF was the shortest Bond film prior to QoS.

He's often bloodied and worn by the end of the books.

astonishing how little screen time Dr. No the villain has but he is so effective and memorable, great achievement.
