some final thoughts...on Casino Royale 67:

it's a lot to take in, all those grand sets, the wonderful music, the insane amount of stars...

...all the past and future Bond actors...

I laughed in places, but mostly I was too mesmerized by the sets and fascinated by what's going on in general to laugh....I did have a constant grin on my face though!!

Well, I have to let it sink in but this got to be a future favorite watch for me, at least once a year yes.

I'm certainly going to watch it a second time soon though, there's so much I've probably missed the first time around.

If anything I would criticize just now, then maybe that the film is almost overloaded visually. But hey....I LOVED IT.

Well I do have to say that I am somewhat disappointed now that in Casino Royale 2006 the game is Holdem Texas and not Baccarat, now that I know that Fleming used Baccarat.

Yes, the 67 adaptation is more faithful to the book.

@MooseWithFleas thanks for keeping me in the loop for the DN group viewing. Sorry I missed out but I was out for the night yesterday. Glad you guys had fun and I'll definitely try to join one of these soon.

I've not seen CR67 yet and must get to it in 2018.

That guying the Frankenstein outfit also played Darth Vader in all three films.

He also played the Frankenstein Monster in two different Hammer horrors.

Now I'm in the mood for CR and have it playing................

M and William Holden are on their way to Sir James' mansion.

As against the code name theory as I am, considering this was a competing Bond film, in a way it kind of makes sense here to imply the Connery/Bond was assigned after Niven had retired.

Still I resent the fact that in light of the Craig era there are tons of people who think the code name is official. I just had that ridiculous discussion with someone the day who thought it was clever to imply Craig, Brosnan, etc were all distinctly different characters.

Still, here I like picturing Niven's Bond having been a spy during WWII and during Ian's time.

Bond taking a bath with Angela Scoular. I like Bond's pinky ring. Looks like something Christopher Lee would wear.
