    Bond in bed with Deborah giving him shite. It's pretty funny- Bond is wearing a Scrooge like bed night gown.

    Had David Niven ever been without his mustache?

    Bond picks up a giant ball..........insert Roger's OOORRRHHHOOO here.

    The locations are amazing. In a way it's kind of a pity Feldman made this into a spoof. This might have been an interesting straight adaptation of CR in the old golden age of Hollywood style.

    Niven has some amazing outfits. He 's wearing a cape now. Damn. Now I'm in the mood to see his Dracula spoof. The first film I ever saw him in: OLD DRACULA a.k.a. VAMPIRA. It's awful, but at the same time quite funny. Been years since I watched it.

    Valerie Leon is in this somewhere...........I forget when.

    I had to back this up........................car chase with the Bentley. I really do think should forego the Aston Martin for awhile and give 007 a Bentley.

    Controversial opinion: I like this chase far more than the Q0S PTS chase.

    M's office here looks good.
    Bond kisses Moneypenny's daughter. And people give Rog a hard time for AVTAK.

    Terence Cooper...............imagine had he gotten Bond for OHMSS. He probably would have made a good Bond in an EON film.
  • Posts: 16,226
    He kind of resembles OHMSS runner up Anthony Rogers.

    Glad to hear you liked it. My viewing has been interrupted quite a bit this morning sadly. Mata Bond is on her mission now. Been ages since I've watched it all the way through. I am ranking this one quite a bit higher now. It's a blast.

    You can do no wrong with Deborah Kerr.

    Truer words have never been spoken.

    An Affair To Remember is one of my beloved favorites.

    That goes without saying.
    A lot in this film is way better than QoS.

    She was one of the greats. I loved her in THE SUNDOWNERS with Robert Mitchum. I tend to forget how many great Golden Age of Hollywood actors are in this. George Raft shows up a bit later.

    It's difficult to rank this film with the EoN Bonds but I'll try.

    PEOPLE WILL BE SHOCKED!

    I have to admit it, but I just edited my new ranking placing this above a few of the Craigs and Brosnans.

    It really isn't fair, though to judge this or the '54 CR against the Eon series. However, there is quite a bit of Bondian elements in both.

    Well in the end it comes down to this:

    The level of entertainment and joy it gives you.

    Exactly. In addition the link to classic Hollywood here is so strong, (as is the link to classic television with the '54 version), I cannot overlook that. I have always felt a strong connection to the 1940's and '50's film history and music. I think it's great John Huston was M in this for example.

    Here's my trivia item, don't think it was mentioned.

    The beautiful Caroline Munro in CR 67. I think she was 18 or younger.

    That's right! I forgot that as well. Caroline Munro elevates every film she's in, IMO.

    @RichardTheBruce

    That is amazing. I spotted so many past and future Bond stars in CR67 but her I didn't see!

    @ToTheRight
    How's this for controversy. Ursula is a better Vesper than Eva Green, character wise.
    I love Eva Green though, totally.
    And another controversy: Ursula is better in CR67 than in DN. Just so.
