A lot of greatness ahead, luckily.

I actually think SF is the most fun Craig Bond in spite of the sadness towards the climax. It has a strong balance of fun, humor, grit and drama, IMO.

Agreed. It does have the biggest fun factor.

    Shang-hai, Dench, Macau

Now I remember why I loved this film so much after my first viewing.

GREAT STUFF, legendary I'm tempted to say.

And again I need to stress how incredibly hot Craig looks at 44. A role model for me.

Has Dench nearly the same amount of screen time as Craig has? Even if not, SHE makes this film a classic.

Newman's score finally gets good in the Macau sequence, even evoking Barry for one or two seconds.
Overall the worst score ever though. Clearly.
Imagine what Arnold could have done for Skyfall.

Marlohe. The greatest opportunity missed ever.
Imagine HER as Swann in SP.

Marlohe got to be the hottest while best Bond girl actress ever. Goddess Eva Green not counted, naturally.

It's not one of the best Bond scores, but I'd argue a handful are weaker (SP, GE, FYEO, maybe LTK).

Bérénice Marlohe is that good I had to skip back and watch the whole scene again!!

I stand corrected. I deleted the FYEO score from my memory! Yes that one is truly worse.

Silva's entrance is great. A bit forced with all the silly dialogue but at least the repartee between Bond and Silva is great!

the whole scene is too long though, it's dragging now.

Its the only scene i like in SF and the following one where Bond turns the tables on his captors!

and here ends the near perfect half hour of Skyfall...

...Shang-hai to the choppers appearing on the sky....

Great sequence; of course, I like almost all of it. The only segments of the film I don't particularly like are when everyone is at the MI6 base when Bond first returns and right after Silva's capture. They can drag a tad. But the rest is basically golden for me.

Dench again, which is always saving the day, or scene.

M facing Silva. Great stuff, although again that off-putting mommy stuff.
And the worst CGI job possible. How was this green-lighted by EoN...

Now it's time to give up your brain at the coatroom.

Silva's escape, while exciting to watch, is beyond bad writing. But it's fun, great fun.

    Dench. Always Dench.

How does she do it. I need to check other films of her.

Speaking of Whishaw. He elevates SPECTRE single-handedly with his great performance there.

This is the stuff that legends are made of.

    Dench reciting Tennyson's Ulysses.
A gripping shot-out and Mallory bravely saving the day.

It can't possibly get better than this....but wait...it will.

Love the DB5 bit, a bit obvious trying to evoke Connery (once more) but still, the car is just too legendary not to be brought into this film.

The DoP of Skyfall has to be mentioned. DoP's seldom get the praise they deserve.
Sam Mendes may have done quite an ok job at directing but it's Deakins who is responsible for one of the most atmospheric sequences I've ever seen in a film and that includes all the film noir I love so much!
