I've always been of the opinion Greene is an underrated Bond villain. Not the best, but still not bad or forgettable like most say IMO.

My favorite part of TMWTGG and it's not close. Of course Scaramanga himself is great and saves it.

Medrano is a creep. Also a decent underrated villain.

Boat chase isn't too bad, but it's the least impressive of the action scenes thus far. Bond and Camille have great interaction all the time. 30+ minutes in and I'm having a pretty good time overall.

QoS isn't technically standalone, but it actually still feels a lot more standalone than SP. It stands on its own better than I remember.

QoS is a fun ride if you close your eyes when the insane edited action occurs :P

Meanwhile Goodnight and the red button ha ha....oh the thoughts I have seeing that scene...

Another villains lair goes up in smoke. Quite impressive.

I obviously needed this Bondathon, because just 3 films in, I've already had one of each kind of opinion: one got worse, one stayed the same, and one got better.

Now for the opera sequence. One of my favorite parts of the franchise, and probably the best part of QOS. Love the soundtrack here especially - which reminds me, the whole flipping soundtrack is great. Bring back David Arnold PLEASE.

"I really think you people should find a better place to meet."

So much good stuff in this scene. Brings back memories of how I wished the whole scenario with the Quantum organization would be resolve back in the day.

Mathis is a great character. I'm glad they brought him back for QoS. SP made so many callbacks to Craig's first 3, I was so let down that he didn't get any love.

Strawberry Fields is one of my favorite secondary Bond girls. Craig's interactions with her are completely classic Bond.

This viewing brings me back to 2008-2011 when this was a top 10 Bond film for me. Might not climb back quite that high, but it is almost certainly going to get a raise in this Bondathon.

There is so much great stuff in QoS, yet the film is butchered technically.

Tosca is for everyone in that instance. I've never heard anyone say that this scene isn't the high point of the film.
Now imagine the editor and director would have applied that style to the whole movie.

Meanwhile Goodnight and Bond are on their way, an 8 hour journey.

M is still waiting on that phone....

The editing can be annoying, but this particular viewing it isn't as bad as I remember. It's been a while since I liked this film so much; I'm not sure what's triggered the change, but I'll take it! Probably the most underrated Bond film by the general public at least.

I cheated and watched TMWTGG again, even if it already was up earlier in my Bondathon.
Some films are just too much fun!

I elevated QoS two notches up in my ranking by the way. From dead last to above LTK and AVTAK :)

Mathis's death scene is really well-done. Bond's cold "he wouldn't care" tops off how sad it all is.

I thought this would stay close to SP in how much I liked them, but as the rewatches turn out, QOS is now blowing out SP in my estimation. What a turnaround.

The cast is one of the strong points in QoS no doubt.
I doubt it will ever become as beloved as CR or SF for me (two of my favorite Bond films), but this viewing is definitely doing a good job of boosting it. I'm guessing it will finish in my Top 15 this time judging from how well this is going.

Actually it's Dench. Always Dench. She single-handedly pushes Skyfall to greatness and I believe she is the backbone of QoS as well.
That's why SP is maybe so lacking in the acting and emotional department. No Dench.
I agree that not having Dench around did hurt SP. It was not an emotionally satisfying movie outside of Mr. White, who's inclusion was the big highlight. Such a good character. He was great in all 3 of his appearances IMO.

CR-SF are the two great films. While QOS-SP disappoint on most levels.
Shame really considering what potential there was for Craig.

I actually may watch QoS again later today. I loved Dench so much in SF and now I want to see more of her.
I'd encourage anyone who feels let down by QOS to try it again. It's not on the level as Craig's classics (CR/SF), but I'm finding it to be mostly superior to SP. It has much more energy.

The section from the sinkhole until Bond gets back to the hotel is kind of blah.

The tribute to GF is really cool. I also really love Bond and M's moments here.

They really should bring back Jeffrey Wright's Felix for Bond 25.

Getting near the climax now. I like that this film is on the shorter side. Helps add to its uniqueness.
