Bond boards a helicopter with Irma Bunt. Every time I'd watch OHMSS with one particular friend he'd voice the opinion that Bernard Horsfall as Campbell looks like THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO William Katt.

Curly blond hair aside, I disagreed.
That scene is just so well shot. Truly beautifully done. I hope to see something like that again in a Bond film one day.

I hope so as well. All the elements come together here. Beautifully lit and shot from each angle.

You can say that about the whole film.

I like Bond's leather suitcase. I should try to find one like that. Old school luggage.

The Angels of Death. I think in the book they were all blond. Been years since I've read it, actually. I need to replace my Bond novels. I only have a few left from when I moved.

I can't think of any shots that are unflattering to any of the actors either. Everyone looks good. Whereas in LTK for instance, there are several shots of Tim that don't do him justice.

Dinner time. Bond has steak rather than scrambled eggs. He's undercover, so I guess he doesn't get to order his favorite scrambled eggs.

The lovely Jenny Hanley, so great a year later in SCARS OF DRACULA.

Several Hammer Horror beauties here actually.

Bond in the elevator to meet Blofeld, another favorite music cue here.
    Damn this music is brilliant.

    My favorite Blofeld.

Same here. Maybe even my favorite Bond villain period.

He might be mine as well actually alongside Goldfinger or Dr No.

Bond and Ruby. George was pretty suave.

A few moments after being with Ruby...........Bond is ready to go again. This time with Nancy.

The Campbell scene with Grunther that was cut from some of the UK VHS releases.

Bond falls while attempting the curling game. If this were a Roger film, his "OOOOOHHHHH" sound might have been inserted there.

That bit reminds me of Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent. That's exactly what he would have done. The second time Bond succeeds smoothly.

I was playing shuffleboard the other day and thought of this scene.

Bond knocked out. I should decorate my Christmas tree like Blofeld's this year.

Blofeld reveals his plan. A great scene. I'm as enthralled now as I was when I first watched this.

Here Bond is locked behind the cable car gear room. Looks like the inside of an old watch.

I'll bet Piz Gloria looks weird in the summer time when the snow has melted.

Again Bond uses Macgyver techniques by ripping out his pockets for gloves.

Bond has to climb up there again. This is almost a Hitchcock style suspense building situation.

Bond outside dangling above the snow on the cables.

I'd love to see more scenes of Bond in peril in the future.

Has Craig ever been in a situation quite like this?

    Sneaky Bond.........................sneaking around the corridors.
When I was a kid we lived an an old apartment building complex and I used to sneak around the halls pretending I was Bond. Either George here or Roger in OCTOPUSSY in the Monsoon Palace.

He quietly goes down the steps.....................hides next to the elevator................

then subdues the guard with ease.

    Bond kicked his arse.

I love scenes where Bond has to steal some clothes as a disguise or to escape. Here it's a ski suit.

Once again, that's something else I think Craig is missing out on, unless there's a scene similar in the Craig era not coming to mind.

Blofeld decides to take part in the chase himself. Clearly a worthy opponent to Bond. I can't see Charles Gray or Donald Pleasence participating here.

Blofeld needs to be a bad-ass as well as a criminal genius. Savalas has that in spades.
