    FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

    More Roger for me today!!
Gunbarrel ---jammin' Conti Bond theme here.
First shot of Bond sporting his Simon Templar pompadour circa final season. Moore looks great here.

The Universal Exports helicopter reminds me of the one where Superman saved Lois.

Classic Binder titles with Sheena. The song is so melodic, positive, upbeat and memorable. Must be the major chords.
The St Georges scene. Glen' story telling here pays good attention to the pacing. The scene isn't overly long, and the film doesn't take 45 minutes before 007 is on his assignment. The plot set up is ideal.

I like James Villiers here. I must say under the same situation I can't picture the current Tanner quite having the authority to give 007 his assignment.
OOh OOh OOh can you feel it excite you....

Citroen chase!! Around 1992 I found a green suede jacket similar to Roger's here. I have kept it to this day. If I ever ride in a Citroen I'll plan to wear it.

Been watching so many Bond films this year, I believe that the Tanner briefing and FYEO and the Moneypenny intro in GE are the only 2 instances in the entire franchise of Bond being in M's office without M also being present (Moneypenny and Bond are alone in the office in GE before going in the situation room).

The Roger Moore smart arse smirk/nod trademark. I used to do that to people as a kid whenever I'd be at a red light and another car was pulled beside us. It was funny then.
Michel Julienne- son of Remy driving here, also appears in the PTS of TLD.

    I think you're right.

The Identigraph machine. I like the generic 1980's John Ritter on Three's Company haircut the identigraph automatically gives any male caucasian.

Bond has some cool clothes in this one. I love that brown winter coat. I think Roger snagged it and later wore it to the AVTAK re-opening of the 007 Stage.

Beach scene- reminds me of OHMSS.
    Columbo!!!! Great character great scene.

I like Roger's expression when Columbo pulls the PPK on him.

Dragged along the coral. Roger gets thrashed in this one. I may have to do a re-ranking of the Bonds soon. I'm really enjoying the Moores lately.

Bond's climb- one of my favorite scenes in the entire series!
Genuine suspense here. I like how he uses his shoe laces to climb up the rope. MacGyver would be proud. No gadgets here.

Another great screening of FYEO! I had a blast with this one. My fave Moore when I was a kid.

I am 3/4 through SP and it is still very very good...once Bond blows up the base,THATS when it falls apart...so annoying, and so little respect for Blofeld the character and Waltz the actor after this point..

It makes Quantum/Spectre a joke, might as well be Asda/Walmart fighting Bond....4 films and these arseholes control it all ?!

I actually cant watch Bond shooting down Blofeld's helicopter....i turn it off and pretend Blofeld got away..
    time to turn off methinks...

@barryt007, do you think it would be better with some better music?
  • edited November 2016 Posts: 19,339
I just think Blofeld should have got away ,it woukld have left everything open for Blofeld to return in another 2 or 3 films later ,not immediate, and shown the new young Bond fans that Bond could be beaten...

And wow @Murdock ,that AVTAK,DAD, and QOS mix was brilliant....QOS really is the last Bond film to have a decent score...SF and SP have been crap..Bond needs to have individual missions again, but thanks for that,so much better.

Thanks, @barryt007. I agree. SF and SP had terribly dull scores. I loved SP but the more I watch it, the more Newman's lazy ass score becomes more noticeable. It's truly shameful.

SP is dropping with every watch...the potential was so good..i think letting the actor who plays Bond co-produce the film is a mistake..too much power and it looks amateur,as if Craig had too much input...(the end i mean)

I can't help but disagree with that. Granted, Newman's scores are generic, but he did manage to bring some great queues to the table, notably in the slower, romantic sector. Severine, Donna Lucia, and Madeleine are all incredibly lush.

Newman had a few good tracks but everything else is forgettable.

@jake24, You should rescore the Plane Chase with that music.

Spectre really would have benefited with a Brosnan Era David Arnold score.
