I don't know why I was down on DAF for several years. I loved it as a kid and have found a new appreciation over the past year and a half. Tonight included. But I do know it's going to turn into mud with the Moonbuggy Chase. And that horrible climax on the oil rig.

Lana Turner is one of the great secondary Bond Girls.

    Lana Wood you mean?

Watching the Peter Lamont/Vic Armstrong/David Arnold commentary for TWINE. They apparently used a drone to film certain shots of the boat chase. Quite experimental for the late 90s.

I didnt know that,interesting...i might give that a watch in a minute...

I think the boat chase is very well on-par with the tank chase. Both brilliant setpieces.

One thing I never understood was why Bond fans consider TWINE to be among the most visually dull films in the franchise. Popping in the Blu-ray, I'd argue the complete opposite.

I love the way the traffic wardens were drenched...apparantly EON set them up ,they didnt know they would be soaked,so their reaction is 100% genuine haha

When I saw that scene in the cinema in 1999, the audience cheered and clapped.

I liked it too but I'm not sure its aged very well. I think the first 30 minutes or so is pretty good but you can definitely start to pick it apart after that.

some of the acting and dialogue is very ropey.

The fact Bond leads the parahawks into the trees atm is bad bad producing ....they are after Electra not Bond 'apparantly' so why are they chasing him n not Electra ?? and wouldnt Bond wonder why that is the case ?? ....annoying..

I love the way Bond disarms and disables the guard in Valentine's casino...Brosnan is awesome.

Also the ruthless and tidy way he kills Davidov from the boot of the car is brilliant...if Connery did that it would be raved about !

Still on the commentary. David Arnold has some surprisingly intelligent insight.

Without going into much detail, he offers some incredible reasoning for both the sound and positioning of his music with relation to the moment and the relationships between each character. Interesting stuff.

I have in the past tried to copy Brosnan's cheesy delivery of:

    "Electra......this is a game I can't afford to play"

I've copied Brosnan's delivery of "You're really gonna commit suicide for her" on one occasion. Surprisingly, it came off in flying colors.
