Tangier. It's shot much better here than in SP, although a lot of that was filmed in Rome. For a $245 million dollar production they sure didn't know how to show it.

I actually like Whitaker. I still prefer Joe Don Baker as Wade though.

Vienna. Beautiful city. Barry really brought his A game for this one.

The carriage ride seems like something out of older films. That was probably the intention.

I'm not a fan of classical music, but I like this.

    Careful.

Dalton is the only Bond to order a martini in all his films. It helps that there's only two of them.

    Dalton's eyes are pretty wild.

I love Whittaker's villa. Nice pool, beautiful view, good looking women. Struggling to see any flaws here. Maybe the creepy Russian dude swimming.

    MGW cameo.

I love Dalton's glance at Saunders.

The carnival scene. Never thought I'd see the day when I saw Bond on jumper cars.

I wouldn't buy balloons from him either.

"Just let it happen". If Sean said that, everyone would be screaming RAPE.

I love the two songs by The Pretenders.

So long, Saunders. I was just starting to like ya. Pretty brutal demise.

"Yes. I got the message." Dalton IS Fleming's Bond.

Piz Gloria is a lethal place to be regarding decor, if mounted nails were not bad enough there is a lethal looking saw in a plant pot.

Bond escapes the first Ski chase is awesome, the music is intense one of the greatest Bond sequences, especially after Bond looses a Ski

The juxtaposition of Do you know how Christmas trees are grown playing to the tense scene thats taking place is genius.

Back to Tangier. Again, great music.

Confronting Pushkin. In my opinion, Dalton's best moment as Bond. He's great in both films, but I slightly prefer him here since he just seems more natural and relaxed. In LTK, there are a few moments where he overdoes it.

I love Bond shooting the light.

Rooftop chase. This could have been longer. Not the magic carpet bit though.

Bond gets picked up by the CIA girls. The blonde is all right but the black one is not attractive at all. Kind of a cheesy scene.

John Terry is definitely the weak link of the film. Should've had David Hedison back. He doesn't have any chemistry with Dalton.

Krabbe seems to be enjoying himself.

While Connery and Moore are the best Bonds, I think Dalton was the best actor of the bunch.

Bond's been drugged. I've just noticed that Necros smiles during it.

Damn. Kara actually looks pretty sexy as a nurse. What do you think @barryt007? Lol

    You're full of it.

Indeed, and I just realized they would probably make a great double bill, both being debuts from the two least known actors, boasting great Barry scores and having a bit more emotional seriousness to them.

Okay. M scene. I wonder what 008 is like. He seems to be mentioned more than any of the others.

Q scene. I've always liked the key chain.

How can a sexy Moneypenny be a bad thing? She actually moves the plot along for a change.

    The Aston is beautiful.

I can't believe some people actually support communism.

Dalton, Brosnan, and Craig all have a scene in the bathroom during their debut films.

Kara isn't much of a housekeeper.

They really went all in for the baggy look for Dalton's wardrobe. Honestly, I prefer it over the overly tight Craig suits. At least this is more in line with my style.

I guess Bond doesn't like music all that much.

The car chase is good. Doesn't really fit Dalton's Bond but I can get behind it. Don't be so critical. And that's coming from a Virgo lol.

Nothing to declare. Gorgeous shot of the mountains.

My favorite scene in TLD is Bond's reaction after the death of Saunders.

    Classic moment.

That's it Bond is mood dependent I think and what's great about the series is there are so many variations on a theme.

Controversial as it is, I do prefer Lazenby’s Bond over Dalton’s Bond. No disrespect to Dalton - I just love Lazenby as Bond a lot. Both certainly deserved more than the little screentime that they got as 007, though.

They both had great films, George was in the better film well probably the very best Bond film.

I slightly prefer Dalton but think highly of Laz too. He did a great job for someone with no prior acting experience and was a supremely confident Bond. Despite their few films, they made quite a lasting impact on the world of Bond.

Yes. To me, just about everything in OHMSS from Blofeld confronting Bond ("Merry Christmas, 007!") to the end is flawless. The first half is also excellent, but it just takes it to another level in the second half.

Afghanistan. Not a place I'm planning to visit.

Not too keen on the jail fight but it doesn't detract from the film.

I remember my friend cracking up at Kamran's laugh. It's pretty funny.

"Kara. We're inside a Russian airbase in the middle of Afghanistan". Love it.

Those corpses jumping up like that would scare the shit outta me.

Hmm. TLD might even overtake LTK for a while.

The ride through the desert. The cinematography is beautiful here. Dalton actually does a decent job riding. Craig looked so out of place doing it in Cowboys and Aliens. Damn. Just when I thought I repressed that film.

Kamran is a pretty charming guy. Shame he'd probably be a terrorist nowadays. The guys laughing at everything Bond says is priceless.

Nice scene between Bond and Kara. I probably would have left Kara here for the finale and bring her back at the end since the third act is where she gets on my nerves a bit.

Yes, I agree. It's really well done. I think they handled the romance aspect very subtly in OHMSS but it resonates nevertheless. A distinct case of less is more, and the Lauterbrunnen scenes in particular (including in the shed) are quite impactful.

No @Fire_and_Ice_Returns, I haven't. Looking forward to it. I've been meaning to see TSWLM as well, which I'm sure will be awesome too.

It's a film that draws you in, like many of the 60"s films it has something the other films don't have.

@bondjames Agreed. It's always a bit of a sad moment for me when I finish OHMSS in my Bondathon because it's just so great. It was only the second one up on my newest pattern! I'm sure I'll be watching again though around Christmas.

@FoxRox, I think the MP/Bond scenes in this film are really fantastic too - both earlier and at the end. Maxwell at her best.

Thanks @Fire_and_Ice_Returns. I may see TSWLM first because I've been having a bit of a craving lately for Rog.

The famous sunrise shot. Stunning. Alec Mills did a good job on this film.

This is definitely the weakest section of the film, but it's a masterpiece compared to SP.

Weren't they going to bring the Snow Leopard Brotherhood back for the next film.

Not a fan of Kara here.

Dalton really pulls off the clothes in this film.

Great battle sequence. The last one we've had in the series so far. I think there were good opportunities for it in TND and SP. In SF, it could have worked too. A huge battle in the Scottish Highlands at night? Sounds good to me.

I hate the moment when Kara screams "James" from far away. It's irritating.

I love the disdain in Koskov's voice when he says "Kara".

I like Bond and Kara together more than I used to.

    Uh-oh. Necros jumped.

I don't blame you. Folks talk about the opening parachute and that's certainly fantastic, but for me the Lotus is the highlight and has been since I first saw the film as a kid. Legendary. They tried to emulate components in SP with the plane but it just failed on all levels imho. Everything about the Lotus sequence is pure Bond gold.

We have spoken about that scene before it's perfection and personally action wise TSWLM has never been topped that film has the two best pure action scenes.
