Watching TLD on this Sunday afternoon. Solid film but still not sure I like the whole mountain chase portion. It's got nothing to do with the films story and the Moore style shots of the bumbling policemen feel dated.

Well Kara is under watch from the KGB. And I don't remember the shots of bumbling policemen. :-??

The locations in this are great but some of the interior sets look rather cheap (Kara's home, the Afgahn airbase). It was the same thing in LTK.

It's the tv movie thing again. I've seen my share of tv movies, though I have not seen one as good as TLD and/ or LTK. If there is a tv out there, that looks better than either film, I am all eyes...

D'Abo's performance in the scene when Bond reveals who he is isn't all that great.

What's not great about it. She is in the presence of Bond, having been fed half truths from Koskov and is likely nervous.

    Dalton is really good though.

    As always.

His delivery of the line "diamonds! hidden in the ice" when they are on the plane in the next scene is very Flash-Gordon-Esque.

I can hear it clearly in my head, now, i'm not getting the Flash Gordon connection.

Dalton's landing when he jumps over the fence after escaping from the airbase looks overacted.

He jumps, lands and gets up, all good.

    I was nit-picking somewhat I admit.

I still think some of the interior sets look a tad cheap and yes TV movie like. However, this is made up for by some of Glen's best location work (Vienna, Afghanistan etc).

Watching LTK.Love Dalton but his waking up dramatically at Sanchez palace is REALLY overracted!

Love the movie. Its over two hours long but its perfectly paced and the time flys by.This is an example of what QOS should have been but was ruined by poor scripting and direction.

    THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS

    Watching my new Blu!
Gunbarrel- I like the same-ish Bond Theme music here compared to OP and AVTAK.
Had Barry tampered with it for this film, I bet he would have added that drum machine, which would have dated the scene. Here it's timeless.

Cameo by FYEO villain Michel Julienne doing what he did in the previous Bond- driving.

    Better make that two- titles!
    Hey Driver ..........
I never felt TLD looked particularly cheap or TV movie-ish. Stylistically it's minimal. There are no huge Ken Adam sets and everything from the texture to colors have a naturalistic feel.

Sadly most of Tim's deliveries are bad in TLD. A decent improvement in LTK but not so much sadly.

Tim does emphasize certain words with an added intensity like ...strawberry JAM of him. Still I've always like his Bond delivery.
Nearly everything Tim does is intense. The way he pulls the lever on the pipeline sending Koskov over the border for example. Just his style. Fans either like it or don't. I've always been a strong supporter of The Daltonator myself.

    Blayden's safe house
I like M's expression when Bond hands him the receipt for doing the groceries. Great to see familiar faces such as the Minister here.

Excuse my Samsung. I meant to type oddly at the end of that.

The trailer version of "better make that two" might have been better to use in the final film. I don't really have a problem with it either way, though.

Bond in the head. Everyone outside the stall watches. I guess he couldn't find a better place to check out that rifle.

I like Tim' s "oh for f***'s sake" expression as he waits for Kara to get her cello.

    Love Barry's queue there.

The Blu-ray of TLD does have good detail- the snow sequence was sharp as a pin.

Me, too- great little piece of music there.

Opera scene starring Mickey G. I wonder what Bond whispers to Kara that makes her laugh?
Roller coaster. I could possibly see Pierce in this scene, maybe Roger, but have a hard time picturing Danny or Sean in the bumper cars.

Pushkin interrogation scene. One of my favorites with a great Barry cue behind it.

Tim's jump over the fence. Quite a high fence at that! I don't really see overacting there, just a "let's get the f**k out of here" expression.
I always liked this section of the film, my favorite really. I vividly remember seeing this multiple times in the cinema summer of '87. Always been one of my favorite Bond films.

It *is* my favourite. Doing a Bondathon now, it may be beaten by OHMSS and FRWL

I think that's why I've often felt a bit unsure and in two minds about him. Everything is dramatic and pronounced. It's taken further in LTK certainly.

I feel that - sometimes - you can sense that Dalton's thought carefully about each expression he's going to make before he makes it, particularly in LTK.

I like that part of the film too.

That's probably the best scene in the film. I love Rys Davis's terrified-but-dignified expression as he braces himself for death.

AVTAK is such a tired effort. From all involved (except Zorin).

Even this time around...dare I say I even prefer Arnold's QOS effort. And I don't even have to sound like I'm apologising for saying it

Yes I think the same at present. It's quite a limp film, despite the presence of Walken and the score.

Never Say Never Never Again. I'm 25 minutes in and I still cant get into this movie. Kind of hit and miss.
Sometimes I enjoy this movie. Often I don't. I can only imagine how they got Connery ti reprise his role in this Thunderball remake.

    Uh, back to the movie...
