    The parts that work for me in this film are the comedic bits primarily, so the end sequences become a bit of a chore to get through, as they do nothing really groundbreaking and the humorous parts are over (until Nigel returns at the end)

    I've grown to like this ending as low key as it is.
    I'll take it over SP's 3rd act.

    I’m also not a fan of this climax. Feels quite flat to me.

    Yes, beginning with the Brosnan films, following the likes of RAMBO and DIE HARD, we get Bond vs an army, rather than Bond "Commanding" a squadron or team of soldiers. Still problem with the Craig films.

    The undersea battle in TB is much more intense and well choreographed.

    The underwater battle in TB is epic.

    There's something about these schmaltzy 80s themes that are so damn cheesy that make me adore them to no end.

    If I ranked it with the EON films, it would fall very low, but probably at least edge out DAD and DAF. It’s very rough around the edges, but Connery is a joy to watch and there is some fun stuff in it.

    It has its moments I don't care for and issues, as all films do, but overall I enjoy myself with it every time.

    Fun fact, I met George Lazenby a few years back and he told me a story of meeting McClory in Germany to discuss being potentially in a TB remake. This was in the late 70s at the time, but they didn't get on very well. George said that Kevin accused him of hitting on his gf at the time during their meeting at dinner.

    It would rank last for me with the EON films, but still some very fun parts and a couple of key good additions with the like of Bernie Casey and Barbera Carerra among others.

    Wow! Very cool story. Interesting.
    I think it might have been cool had George starred in McClory Bond film at some point.
    Maybe during the Dalton era. He still looked good.
