The way the exterior is captured and bathed in gold inside...apologies if this turns into screeds of posts about Deakins' skills.
Severine chat over drinks is good - casino, cocktails, tuxedos, femme fatale so with guns strapped to their thighs and smoking cigarettes - this is classic Bond.
Marlohe delivers a good performance. pity she wasn't given a larger role. Her desperate little intakes of breath that double as laughter between words when she's discussing Silva is a nice character choice.
Bond in the Komodo pit is classic Roger Moore era bond. Just wish the fight went on a little longer.
"It's about M and you and Me"
But really it's just the escape that is kind of too perfectly planned and executed. Everything before is silva just doing his private espionage job and once Bond enters the picture he sees an opportunity that might get him to M. On the day Bond arrives at the island Silva could have set it into motion knowing that M's hearing was scheduled. It's just the timing of Q plugging in Silva's laptop.
