I can't wait until my day off to indulge in some Bond.

    So here goes...................

    LICENCE TO KILL

Okay I'm going to be a bit of weird here.................over to Youtube..............okay here it is..............

When I saw this in the cinema the trailer that preceded the film was for ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN. Animated film with Burt Reynold's voice. I never saw the film, and TBH the trailer made it look annoying from what I recall. I'm watching that first...............
    Hmm............ I remember that now.

Gunbarrel! My favorite non-traditional gunbarrel in the series.

    Mickey G!!!!!!!
Bond Felix and Sharkey all sit in the back seat looking completely crowded.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RIP, David, You were a great Felix.

What did he promise you? His heart? Give her his heart.

    AAAAAAAAAAAAUGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!

    Time for a spanking.

I think Dalton's Bond in his off time secretly enjoys watching old THREE'S COMPANY episodes, hence his secret crush on Della.

Sir Roger's Bond probably prefers the original MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE

Lazenby's Bond can impress the ladies at any party by playing the THREE'S COMPANY opening lick on the guitar. Believe me, it's kind of tricky to pick out.

    Okay enough THREE's COMPANY jokes.......................

    Great PTS!

Could you imagine if back in '89 we had all the Bond fan community social media stuff we have today?

We could be doing Youtube video blogs on Dalton's haircut and sideburns, locating where to find a rental tailcoat like Dalton's, and doing blogs on his navy blue shirt/jacket thingy.

What we had back in '89 was the JAMES BOND 007 FAN CLUB and the JAMES BOND BRITISH FAN CLUB (run by Graham Rye).

007 Magazine dedicated a few issue to this film and did a review. They thought it pretty much sucked compared to TLD. They also thought Tim kind of sucked here and his performance as Bond was well below his debut in the role.
They also thought Dalton's 3rd film should be COLONEL SUN, and that might find a good balance for Tim's style of 007.

Bond hijacks the sea plane. Great scene with dodgy back projection. Yes it looked questionable back then.

I love Kamen's version of the Bond theme.

    Dirty Love!!!
I just watched ROAD HOUSE the other day.

Never saw that in the cinema, but I love it!

Got me to thinking why LTK did so substandard in the States in '89.
Certainly everyone was into BATMAN, LETHAL WEAPON 2 and LAST CRUSADE, but there were a ton of films that summer. The summer of sequels.
KARATE KID III and STAR TREK V both did less than expected. I think Bond falls into that category. GHOSTBUSTERS II started out strong then quickly dropped.
I saw most of the sequels that summer with the exception of KARATE KID.
Imagine if there had been a Star Wars movie that year.

A fun summer I must say, but it was kind of sad going to Bond and being one of the only audience members in attendance.

Just realized tomorrow is Connery's birthday so I will most certainly be here for that.

    The Sanchez office scene.

What's with that bruise on Lupe's forehead? Looks like it's covered with make up.

The infamous Dalton hairstyle scene. Compared to the black jack dealer that looks like he spent 2 hours blow drying/spraying his hair prior to coming in for work, Dalton looks alright.

The Krest sequence. I prefer the original U.S. truncated cut for this scene. On the Blu-ray version it does look like a special effect prop head. In the cinematic version, the short is cut just as the head is expanding before it looks like, dare I say, a prop.
My girlfriend thought the scene was funny because of the effect.

When you're up to your knees, you'll kiss my a$$ to kill you."

Great scene. I love Bond in peril. That needs to come back.

    Excellent choice, @barryt007.

    THUNDERBALL it is...........

I should be hitting the hay as I worked all night...........but Bond is the priority on Connery's birthday.

I love these titles. My favorite from the '60's next to MAJESTY'S.

No CGI here..............the models really are nude. Apparently Maurice Binder had a natural talent for getting the young ladies to undress for these sequences.

This is my favorite SPECTRE meeting in the series.

Guy Doleman..........not to be confused with Guy Williams........or Guy Hamilton.........or Guy Smiley.

Moneypenny flips Bond s**t for his Shrublands diet of Yogurt and lemon juice.

I love the grape stealing bit.

I remember that and 007 mag was one of the first to show the tanker chase and Bond bleeds!!
I remember the negative response it gave, but I think only Tim Greaves gave it a positive review.

That's right. Tim Greaves liked it more than Graham. I loved 007 Magazine.

At the casino sequence, one of my favorites in the series.

That was great, amazing, iconic and now back into my top 5. That means I'll be going back to re-rank as I do every week or two. A tradition I plan to keep until NTTD is released, since we didn't a new film for all those years.

I was a bit too sleepy to comment much so after a brief nap............... here is more Connery on the great man's birthday............

    GOLDFINGER

Been awhile since I watched this one...............several weeks.
Also as a belated Happy Birthday to Honor Blackman.

My favorite gunbarrel in the series. Straightforward and Barry doesn't let me down here.
Sean is the man. The KING of cool. Cooler than Steve McQueen. There I said it.

This is my favorite pre-title sequence in terms of low key action and sneaky Bond. I love it!
Besides we get the white dinner jacket. Controversial opinion: Connery looks better in the white dinner jacket here, than he does in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.
The fight with Alf Joint does look a bit clumsy to a degree, but I love it all the more for that.
Robert Brownjohn in an unsung hero in the Bond series. I love these titles.
The song is amazing as well. Pure Bond.

    Into Miami!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, to be honest, Cec Linder is probably one of the lesser Felix Leiter's.
However, he is quite likable, and considering Jack Lord apparently wanted 50% of the profits and top star billing, I'm more than happy to accept Linder here.

Actually I don't know if that's true or not...............

HARRY SALTZMAN AND ALBERT R BROCCOLI PRESENT

    JACK LORD

    IN IAN FLEMING'S
    GOLDFINGER

    Bond thinks The Beatles suck.

He also thinks they look like a bunch of idiots with their mop tops.

I picture Connery's Bond more into Sinatra if indeed he has any preference in music.

There really wouldn't be any musical equivalent today comparable to The Beatles' popularity in the sixties. There is no one today with such influence. For instance, that whole situation with Lazenby growing his hair and showing up bearded at the OHMSS premiere would never have happened if The Beatles didn't have such a strong influence on pop culture. My Dad still wears his hair more or less like Paul McCartney's on those mid-sixties Beatles album covers. No product or anything.

I wear mine like Connery's here. LOL.

Well actually right now it's cut a little more like Craig's in NTTD.

Okay I'll be honest............ it looks more like Connery's in NSNA. LOL.

The iconic golf outfit. I love this scene.
To think because of this scene, our hero at this very moment might be out on a gold course indulging in his favorite sport. It's his birthday after all, I think he's entitled to a little golf today.

RIP Tania Mallet. Great in this film.

Bond doesn't get to finish his signature introduction.
She doesn't give a s**t what his name is.

    RIP GOLDFINGER gas station.

Apparently it closed down not too long ago.

Bond with his back pack. Looks like he's going to elementary school.
I didn't start carrying a back pack until middle school.

When I was in 4th grade I used to pretend my TRAPPER KEEPER was my Bond attache case.

By 5th grade my best friend had got a leather portfolio folder, essentially used for legal pads and notes. He called it a "man's folder".

I one upped him by getting one with a small calculator. Either way in our 10 year old minds they were closer to Bond's FRWL attache case than any kid's school notebook.

    The laser scene.
Goldfinger doesn't look too worried when Bond mentions Operation Grand Slam.

There she is, my other favorite Connery Bond girl. Poooooooshy.

Bond gets shot down left an right in this one. Pussy isn't buying Bond's charm.

I love the model plane, but wish Lowery hadn't removed the wires. The visible wires were part of the film's charm.

There's the clock later used in the rack sequence. LOL.

    The iconic three piece suit.

Goldfinger is being cordial and Bond disses him immediately. Had Bond been more polite he might have been offered a drink or something.

Felix hanging out at his favorite restaurant, KFC.

The gangsters are Warner Bros wanna be's. They're pretty funny and nowhere near as imposing as Edward G Robinson, George Raft, Bogie or Cagney.

Watching THE SPY WHO LOVED ME in honor of Barbara Bach's birthday.
I usually reserve a birthday Bond screening For Bond Actors Only, some Bond girls, and some villains. Oh and of course, Cubby, Barbara and Michael's birthdays..........Regardless, today is a good occasion to pop this one in.

Into the titles and already it's still my favorite Roger movie.

Some of my favorite Binder titles, though the silhouetted Anya looks nothing like Barbara. I do believe that's Sir Roger, though.

I think Roger might have the best silhouette of any Bond.

Bond in uniform! I also think Roger looked the best in uniform. Connery looked great as well. Pierce's hair looked too long in the back for his uniform sequence, IMO.

    Q is great.

I love Atlantis. This is my favorite Bond film in terms of spectacle.

    Here we go............Sandor..........and Jaws.

Bond in costume. Is this the only film in which Bond doesn't wear a standard suit he could wear to the office? I don't think the brown suit on the train quite counts, nor the safari sports jacket in Egypt.

Anya's dress really pops on the Blu-ray. The color timing on this one is magnificent.
