Jack Lord is my favorite Felix Leiter.

He gives Bond a little push.

    JUMP UP!

    YAY!

When she smashes the bulb on Quarrels face she has red nail polish in the close up, and then her nails are clear in the medium shot.

Either way Quarrel thinks it's funny.

So does Felix. I like Jack Lord's little chuckle here.

At the dinner sequence with Saffin. I mean Dr No.
Joseph Wiseman remains one of my favorite villains in the series.
I love every frame of this film.

Another astounding viewing of the legendary DR NO.
Still quite high in my rankings. Will probably never budge from my top 10.

Top 3 for me. The first 4 Connery films are pure class.

100%. Dr. No is genesis after all. Lazenby's one-off masterpiece and Connery's first four films will always make up my top five films. They will never be surpassed.

I usually sacrifice one of the 1st four to fit TSWLM into my top 5 as I've moved OHMSS in there as well.

    Right now I'm watching

    SKYFALL

At the underground tunnel train sequence.
This may be my favorite bit in the film. I really love this section.
Meanwhile M is on trial and Tanner is making wonderful facial expressions.

Of the Scooby Gang era Bond films, SKYFALL this far is my favorite.

Come on Scooby-Doo, I see you
    Pretending you got a sliver
But you're not fooling me, cause I can see,
The way you shake and shiver
You know we got a mystery to solve,
So Scooby-Doo be ready for your act
Don't hold back! And Scooby Doo if you come through
You're going to have yourself a scooby snack! That's a fact!

I love the way Mallory uses the expression "Just for the sake of variety.............."
I've grown to use that phrase myself.

Even though this film doesn't really have a main Bond girl, Bond (at least IMO) fails his mission, and the damned gunbarrel is at the end..............this may be back to being my favorite Craig era film.
It really is a lot of fun for me.

Bond kidnaps M and leaves Tanner to his own devices. That was funny.

Here comes the iconic scene the audience cheered for..............the DB5 reveal.

" Not even remotely" is another expression I've taken to using in my every day life.

Bond stops to take a pee then reflects on life.

I certainly think that's why Bond and M stop along the road and eventually admire the scenery.

    I love the fog.

Of the Craig Bonds so far this one has my favorite climactic action sequence.

I think the Skyfall mansion location is worthy of any classic Bond film.

I love scenes where Bond seems to be in the middle of nowhere.

Also the frozen lake is wonderful.

I relocated to more seasonal environment about 4 years ago and for the first time in my life actually got to see a frozen over lake. It's pretty awe inspiring.

    The wonderful Albert Finney.
    My favorite Scrooge.

    M vs Silva.

The scene in the chapel is pretty intense.

Then it turns funny after Bond knives Silva. Silva's response is hilarious.
Craig looks great in this scene.

    "Last rat standing."

Wonderful performances here by Dench, Craig and Finney.

TBH I find this even more powerful than Vesper's death.

Bond admires the London city view and kicks it on the roof.

    "I declined"

That brings back a memory I have of a movie night with some friends.
One mate in particular used to freeload and everyone knew it. This time, it was his turn to spring for snacks and beverages at the local deli.

The clerk took his debit card and announced:

"DECLINED!" after swiping the little machine.

He was joking of course and put him on the spot. It was pretty funny.

    The gunbarrel.
    I do love the dots.

The image isn't so bad, just the shade of blood looks off to me.

Great Bond film for the modern era.

    Let's hope NTTD measures up.

I have time for a shorter Bond film before we get the title song for the newest entry.................so I'm going with

    GOLDFINGER

    Love this PTS.

Okay THAT was my favorite gunbarrel sequence in the series.

    Simple.

    Time to compare Connery's toupees:

He's wearing the Bing Crosby style rug as he squeezes the explosive.........and changes attire.

Now he's wearing the GOLDFINGER PTS wig.

This one does look a bit more natural. I wonder if perhaps this was actually Connery's hair with the hairline filled in with mascara?

Ah, the joys of being a Bond fan. Nitpicking EVERYTHING.

Robert Brownjohn is an unsung hero, IMO. His titles were masterful.
I tend to believe many forget Binder didn't do these or FRWL.

With the Oddjob vs Hinx debate on the other thread I feel inclined to see the man himself. I love Oddjob.

    Hinx was bad ass, too.

INTO MIAMI...................one of my favorite pieces of music in film history.

    I love Felix's hat.

Wright should wear one in NTTD.

Connery has the comma of hair over the eyebrow here.

Was Fleming on the set that day?

Goldfinger remains my favorite villain in the series.
    Savalas' Blofeld is probably second.

My favorite Connery "Bond, James Bond".

Although I agree the original was the best and most iconic.
Roger's first is my favorite in the series, actually.

Damn I enjoy this Bond film.
    Remains my number one.

    Never tire of it.

    Bond is effing with Goldfinger.

Now it's time to do more damage to his arrogant ego and steal his girlfriend.

    Connery exudes confidence throughout.

I had a television like the one in Bond's hotel room.

It was black and white. The vertical knob would be used to stop the image from rolling.

That was a problem younger television viewers will thankfully NEVER experience.

The Fort Knox sequence remains one of my favorite scenes in the series.

I must say I like the exterior Fort Knox set as much as the interior.

I always loved how bright and colorful this Bond film is.

    Wonderful look.

Bond is getting destroyed. I love when Bond is outclassed and must use his wits to defeat his enemy.
Oddjob's death was trimmed on the ABC Sunday Night Movie. The entire scene was in fact.

Good to hear. It's such a brilliant film and worthy of the praise it receives.

Definitely the best climax of the Craig Bonds. I prefer CR and QoS as films but SF wins in the climactic department.

Damn straight! Best Bond of the lot.

I can watch it anytime and any amount. Never get bored of it.

It's what the word 'iconic' was invented for!

Been taking a little break from Bond for awhile. Life interferes, important decisions to be made, tasks to accomplish, etc

Well, it hasn't been THAT long. Only a week or so.

    THE SPY WHO LOVED ME

I love Bond's debriefing by George Baker, Hargreaves the Minister and Q. Kind of mixes up the formula a bit, while still giving us the formula.

On one of the other threads I've been reading a Stromberg vs. Drax discussion.
I think of Stromberg as essentially a Blofeld type without the cat. He likes fish instead.
I really like both villains though I'd probably give the edge to Drax. He has a few more great lines.
Interestingly, there are many elements about MR that I prefer to this film: the gunbarrel music, Barry (though Hamlisch is wonderful, IMO), Sir Roger's wardrobe, and Jaws' physical appearance.
That said, I still find this the stronger film. The balance between humor and thrills is perfect for Sir Roger.

    Olga Bisera.

I've had lunch, but I seem to have missed dessert.

    love that line.

The fight with Sandor is a blast. This is one of my earliest memories of Bond, watching this on HBO with my Dad when I was a kid. The shot of Sandor lying dead on the cobblestone street always stood out to me.

I remember when my folks bought a house and it happened to be on a cobblestone street. One of the only ones left. I immediately thought of this scene.

I love Anya. One of my favorite Bond girls.

I love the little fight with Ivan and Boris.
Martin Grace doubling Roger vs. Bob Simmons.

    Max Kalba is great.

    Vernon Dobcheff.

I should watch INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE just for his bit part.

Mr Kalba? My name is Bond, James Bond.

    What of it?

Bond Draco scene first class, OHMSS is the last truly great Top Tier Bond films.

I love this scene as well. Draco is definitely one of Bond's greatest side characters, Crime-Lord-turned-unlikely-ally-turned-father-in-law. The quote "Do not kill me Mr. Bond... at least not until we've had a drink." really has that something that gives these films their special Bond style. The casting was perfect.

I imagine an alternate universe where Lazenby, Draco, and Savalas all came back for a follow up.

EDIT: I also agree that Stromberg is a great Blofeld-esque villain, and probably better IMO than the Pleasance/Gray interpretations.

Of the Bond actors we've seen in the Naval uniform, I always felt Sir Roger looked the best. He really rocks that uniform.

    Leave it to me, Sir..................
Kim Fortune is killed.................only to be horrifically killed again the next film.
