    Nice one @ToTheRight
Love Octopussy, still my favourite Rog Bond movie. Hard to believe its nearly 40 yrs since I watched it on a glorious sunny Sunday afternoon at the cinema, packed house enjoying every minute of it.. those were the days indeed!
There was a magazine called 'InDublin' whose film critic ended the review with "...racist, sexist, but unflaggingly entertaining, with some marvellous stuntwork!" Hard to argue with that!

I always had a soft spot for OP. My folks took me on a Saturday matinee. Exciting times back then.

I'm missing my hero, James Bond.

    Time for DR. NO.

Ths year marks the 40th anniversary of my becoming a Bond fan.....thanks to a summer airing of this Bond on the ABC network. That station really butchered these films, but it was an event to watch them on Sunday nights.
I love all the broken glass sound effects in this film as Starngway's secretary gets it.
I also love the 1962 era feel on this film.
    The iconic casino sequence.
    Connery is the best.

I never tire of DR. NO.
My favorite M scene in the series.
    Bond sings to moneypenny.
I love the way Ken Adam designed the office sets in this film. I also love Bond's flat.
When I was a kid......and getting too old for toys, I wanted my bedroom to look like Bond's here.
My folks just bought an old house with high ceilings, and I set forth in designing my room to look like someplace Bond would live. My grandmother got me an old school desk (for my homework).
......very old school as it was a roll top, I had an old chair and she had replaced my old bedclothes with blankets and covers that looked more classy. My room was very large actually.
I had a few movie posters on my wall, and of course many were Bond film posters.
    Great times.
Bond just wailed on Mr Jones.
    One of my favorite scenes.

Pleydell Smith's office looks cool, too.

The striped furniture in Bond's suite leaves a bit to be desired. It looks like Connery's bathrobe in NSNA.

Quarrel gives Bond sh*t right away.

Congrats on 40 years, @ToTheRight! Quite a milestone there.

I love the pulpy feel of this film. It's still quite '50s here and there, like that Buddy Holly lookalike in the signal room. Would be happy getting a smaller scale, detective-based film like this, but then, it wouldn't be the biggest Bond of all, would it?

I love the little push Felix gives Bond.

Notice how after Bond gets the better of Quarrel and Pussfeller, he steps backwards holding the PPK (PP) and fully squeezes the trigger accidentally without it going off.

I'm with you there. I also love the pulpy vibe. Speakingof Buddy Holly, today is the anniversary of Buddy Holly's death.
I actually think CR succeeded in giving us a lower key film, with a few action sequences added. At least it's a modern equivalent to a smaller scale detective film.

Count me as one of those that also became a Bond fan due to the old "ABC Sunday Night Movie." They would show a Bond film 3 or 4 times a year back in the 1970s and 1980s, and they were BIG events - especially in my household. School books packed, dinner finished, dishes cleaned and put away and popcorn popped and at the ready....

    I miss those days....A LOT!

Connery's hair is pretty long on the top and sides in this one......but with a nice taper.
Very classic haircut, kind of like Clark Gable's.

ABC used to cut out the bit where Miss Taro spits in Bond's face.

Bill Koenig just appeared on a podcast covering the history of Bond on television. I'll also post it in the YouTube thread.

    Bond breaks into song.
When I was 11 my best friend and I created a little Bond skit for the last day of school assembly.
I, of course played Bond. We had a gunbarrel, a little fight scene and I did my best Connery impression of Under the Mango Tree.
All the girls in our class kept asking me to sing that over and over. They didn't care about the rest of the skit, but liked Under the Mango Tree.

I love the climax of this Bond. Great Ken Adam sets. Can't get enough of the heating vent scene.

    Nice one as always, @ToTheRight
Was going to continue with my Rog watchalong with TSWLM. But as I got QOS on 4k now, and inspired by the 'Best shot' thread, I am going with Craigs first follow up.
Only thing is, as it moves like an express train, I will have to pause it to comment! 😅

    Quantum of Solace

I wish this had the gunbarrel at the start, as it would have opened up onto this magnificent shot!

This car chase is for me, the best in the series, so inventive, so thrilling, and Craig is total badass!

Never has a quarry looked so photogenic!!!
My favourite part of the chase, the pursuing police jeep rolling in front of Bonds car!

I love this title sequence, colours are gorgeous, and I much prefer it to SF!
