Blofeld, or rather his arm appears, stroking his white cat! Said cat disappeared after one day filming! (Probably got lost in Adams vast set!!) so they had to get a replacement cat!
  • QBranchQBranch Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Little Nellie! I have the model of it with Bond in it, but the front wheel broke off, must grt around to fixing it! Was going to buy a new one, but most of the models don't have the Bond figure in it!
I have a similar issue with the parahawk model, where one of the propeller blades is nearly broken off. It was like that when I received it and must get around to gluing it back in place.

The whole Turning Japanese segment! This is where things slow! Bond looks silly in his new wig, resembles one of The Beatles, whom he hates! 😁

Had a break and made a cup of tea! Nothing of interest happens in this section until the big finale

Bond already has his ninja gear on, and is it me or has he ditched the Japanese wig?

I loved the YOLT poster ( by Frank McCarthy, I think) which shows Bond walking up the wall of the Volcano set with the Ninjas attacking!

    Blofelds first proper appearance

That scar was done by putting glue on his face and folding skin together! I had a mate in school who used to do it on the back of his arm, using sellotape, much to our amusement

Donald Pleasance was a last minute replacement for Czech actor Jan Werich, who fell ill after a couple of days filming. Am sure director Lewis Gilbert was secretly relieved as he wasn't impressed with Jan, when he first saw him he thought he looked like Father Christmas!!

Is Blofelds appearance the shortest screen time for a Bond villain?

Great shot of the Ninjas swimming out, not so some of those erupting Volcano shots!

    "But, they'll never find us!"
Pretty good watch of YOLT, there are some great scenes and sequences, but it doesn't hit the heights of other earlier Bonds! Would love to see 007 return to Japan again though, and maybe they can find that castle that eluded them!

    Great intro by William Lundigan.

The great Peter Lorre. Just as I pictured the Le Chiffre in the novel.

I actually just finished showing my fiancee SPECTRE. which she enjoyed. Her only complaint was that Monica didn't have more screentime. I can't argue with that.
I feel compelled to stay up a little later and watch this one. I love 50's television noir. This counts IMO.

It's been 35 years since I first watched this one VHS.

Funny to think this Bond adventure was 35 years old then.
