No, there is some good stuff in it, but it could have been so much more!

Yeah, the potential was there, but the final product was somewhat underwhelming. TMWTGG has its moments, however.

That appeared to be everyone's feelings during our August watch-along. The potential was there for TMWTGG to be top-tier. But instead, it feels half baked IMO.

Most definately. Especially the first part. Real shame they didn't take an extra 6 months to clean things up and balance the film a bit more. The climax is also very underwhelming.

I remember that TMWTGG watch-along. I enjoyed it, of course but the felt like maybe we should've picked another film. I got the vibe once it started that maybe none of us were really in the mood for GOLDEN GUN.

You can blame me on that mate! 🫣Think it was my choice at the time, I remember it was just the next film I was due to watch! I still like it, but it's a Bond film with a lot of missed opportunities!

Haha! I still had fun that day. The company we keep here in the Bond community outweighs the choice of film nevertheless. :)

Back in action again with TOMORROW NEVER DIES.
I'm at the Kaufman scene, having just spent nearly an hour on a treadmill my fiancee bought recently. I feel pretty invigorated. I cooled down with some small weights while Bond was in the newspaper factory.

My life sure has changed this year.....only element missing is the return of 007 to the big screen.......so I'll indulge in nostalgia.

Here we go..........JW Pepper........I mean Jack Wade.

    I love Joe Don Baker.

Perhaps it is nostalgia, but I watched CR late last week, and I'm feeling more drawn to this (as good as CR is).
Bond underwater. Craig never really had a scuba diving scene did her? Pierce looks good underwater.

I always liked Bond's outfit here: that blue denim shirt, black trousers and those shoes. I used to dress similar during the summer months. Pierce looks great.

    I love the banner sequence.

I used to not really care for the climax aboard the stealth ship, but I'm loving it tonight.

    Nice one @ToTheRight
    Short and sweet....unlike TND!! 😁
And I half agree with your opinion of Joe Don Baker, love him...hate Jack Wade!!
  • QBranchQBranch Always have an escape plan. Mine is watching James Bond films.

Love TND - I think it's as great as GE except the latter had stronger iconography. Kaufman gets a bigger role in the video game as a mini boss, throwing giant shurikens that look like they're out of the Predator films. Pity Ricky Jay didn't get some throwing card action in the finished film or at least redeemed in said game.

Time for another viewing of one of my favourites..
    QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2009)
I may have to break the rules for this watch, and use the pause button, which I hate doing but it moves a such a pace, I don't want to miss any of it!!

Stunning opening shot, though I do think the gunbarrel could have been used!

    Mr White. Of course!! 😂

MK12 do a fabulous job on the titles, and I am one of the few who likes this theme from Jack White, though I can't help feeling intrigued at what the tragic Amy Winehouse would have done!

The unfurling flag is a great opening shot

    This scaffolding fight is terrific!

Forster idea to get MK12 to put in title cards was inspired. The London one, on the rainy street is cool!

Brutal fight, and Bond waiting for Slate to die is chilling and very Fleming!
