Blofeld then tells her of a story when he came to visit her father...
... she says she doesn't remember, but...
Were these two stories the same????
This confusion is bad screenwriting.
But Benbigh wanting nothing, is awful
... the author of all (his Pain)...
Gents, I gotta stop here for now. I will continue tomorrow.... if this analysis is crap, and you don't want this space to b clutterrd , lemme know! However, this was an awesome exercise and, respect to all who have done it
And I try and write these comments as much as stream of conscious as I can-- so some descriptives may be course or blunt.
In the end, I'm happy you enjoyed SP-- and from this exercise, I'm understanding that I like lots about it too!
Bond doesn't want Maddy to see her father committing suicide-- I'm of two halves on this: One: I love that Blofeld is this sadistic.
Two: I love DC and I HATE his SCREAM at Maddy... God, why is he screaming so much in this film?? Is it to show that he's emotionally available in these scenes?? But in his three previous films, he didn't need these theatrics. He didn't. In fact, he's a quiet Bond. The wink at Mallory in SF just before shooting the extinguisher. Yes, he grunts and growls.
He doesn't scream... But in SP he screams how many times... ??? I love you DC, just don't scream as Bond again--- I love the growls more... much more
I love DC, I don't like his snarky "Get on with it..." it's not his Bond to say this... His bond was tougher ("everyone's going to know that you died scratching my balls")... The line in SP felt like "movie-talk"..
Oh god, Franz is talking about his daddy... Jesus, not good, guys, not good... I see what they were going for... But it's cartoon first draft...
Franz blames Bond for the "path" he took???
Hello Pussy-- I do like that...
Hate the Khan reveal...
I love the gadgets from the past...
But I love FRWL even more... So with CR we didn't have the outlandish BS that saves the day, it was Bond's blood, grit, fists and gun-metal spine that saved the day (and almsot killed him; he was fallible and too impulsive... Now a watch saves him??? No tension. None... None... And that SUCKS)... Mendes and the writers brought it all back again with the stupid outlandish gadgets that save the day. I HATE IT... :(
... but... why the hell do the prison clamps open??? That's bullshit. The explosion has nothing to do with the chair and the prison clamps...
(P: but we NEED Bond to get loose...!!... W: so just open the bloody clamps!... P: good idea (he types into his macbook. Hits Enter) Okay. He's free. Now what??
Any other actor? not a chance!!
Same with Dan...
But damn, he gives Maddy the loving look again!! WHY??? Maddy is nothing more than a hot, empty vessel to park his own ship into for a night or three. That's it...
Bond says "Let's go home"
"The Explosion" happens (Mendes is celebrating with Champagne and hookers off camera);
Bond turns to Maddy. His lips don't move, and a very obvious ADR dub happens-- "It's not over YET"
Bond's kidnapped...
Scooby gang escapes... where the hell did MP come from??? Did I miss something? Why did M want to bring his secretary out into the field...???? That's flipping dangerous...
Bond escapes kidnapping... why the hell was he blind-folded??? Honestly... I hate these scenes...
..... oh this third act hurts my soul
How did Q and M get into his office so fast?
Shit back to Denny... I don't care what he's saying in well-defined elocution... And how dare they steal the "I know where you keep you gun"-- fuck, in CR that's classic... This is just a criminal theft of one's own property!!
And the C line... that could have been good... alas...
Oh good. brothers confronting each other... It's okay... in an on the nose-exposition-type way... Both of these great actor suck...
Until DC growls "did you miss me"?
