DRAMATIC MUSIC as he finds her and slices away her bindings... Now... I hate ALL of this... anything and everything in this building is poor-- from acting, direction and storytelling...

BUT... because I am sentimental at heart.... and, when Bond grabs Maddy and starts jumping through the holes to save both of them-- I like it-- no LOVE-- how cheesy-stupid this is. And wrong. VERY WRONG...

tosses the Walther into the Thames, and... ... .... snore-fest... he's out of bullets.... DC is my favorite Bond beside Conners, but... he's TERRIBLE in this third act. truly terrible. Stiff. Uncomfortable. Not the man from earlier in the film, nor the confident character from the earlier films. Just terrible. This script took down too many people in this final act!!!

    A crime against humanity....

Although I hate that the AM DB5 is magically fixed, i DO love these last couple of scenes-- the soundtrack, DC looking suave... taking off with his girl... I do love it...

AM, driving gloves, the soundtrack, and a babe to drive away with-- yes, after the humiliating last twenty or so minutes... that is Bond captured in the last ten seconds...

What I learned from SP-- I don't mind the first two thirds of the film-- has lots to like, and even love, warts and all... but that last act is shit, plain and simple, nothing redeemable until we see the last ten seconds.

    A sad way to end.

I hope DC is back to rectify this shit. He's a great actor, and, after the gift of his first three films, I would like to see him knock the shit out of the character he re-booted for all of us...

This was definitely a film that started quite strongly and got worse and worse as it went on... Had elements of being a classic... died on the branch of scared and lazy execution to wrap the film up in the MI6 building... Sad, what could have been....

It's hard to believe. Lazy is the work for that last 46 minutes or so. I'm not too crazy about the rest of the film either, that ending third feels like it was written by a couple of kids making their own Bond film.

I agree @Birdleson-- a coupla kids kinda making shit up as they go along...

Murdock, I'm not joking when I say, why couldn't they hire a guy like you to bring a third act worthy of third actness...???

The pub stills? Why did they ever think this was a good idea... It started with promise and died on the same olive tree that Judas hung himself on

They weren't publicity stills, I believe Vesper's and Silva's were taken straight out of their respective films (quite lazy), whereas White's and M's were separate pictures taken before filming began (Dench may have came in to do her's around the time she filmed her message scene, and notice how White's photo is the same as the one that Moneypenny uses to identify him earlier in the film). It's a fine idea, but the execution could have been miles better.

@peter , I'm flattered. Though I'm not really sure what I'd change. I guess I'd have the final act set at the Crater Base. I would probably have C himself show up to reveal his own betrayal, then have him be in charge of the torture scene, that way when Bond throws the watch at him, C would just die there. Blofeld could be there too and get his scar from the blast like in the film but during Bond's escape he and Madeline would get pinned down by Spectre guards then when you think they are goners, an MI6 attack helicopter comes in and saves the day ala Skyfall. Blofeld gets away and sets up for Bond 25.

What you're saying, @Murdock , at least SHOWS C with Blofeld, instead of being TOLD that C is all part of the plan, but wants "nothing".

We never see these two together.

We don't even have a Skype between them!!!

Film is a show don't tell medium; but SP keeps telling and telling and telling.

    And if C wants "nothing"--

Where are the stakes in "nothing"? Did Hans Gruber want nothing; did he want to be a "visionary "??? No the guy was a greedy prick and a great conman, and had a full fledged plan with plenty of risks; risks that were worth the award!!!

@peter, yes. C and Blofeld should have been seen together. It would have been nice to see "C" try to butter Blofeld up a bit before his death. He may have wanted to be the #2 guy. But at the same time that sounds cliche and bad. Not too sure how to fix in that aspect. I'll have to watch the film again and see what could be fixed.

C's a little shit and a kiss ass; he should "want" something; buttering up Blofeld would have been a start to giving a character a point to exist!!

I would have removed C and the getting rid of the 00 Program nonsense. It doesn't aid the story in any way. It just adds false tension. Spectre suffers from too much telling and not enough showing.
