Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. I think I've run out of grains of salt.
  • I just assume that somebody who worked on a Bond film would either be highly respected, or posted to a high position within the forum itself. I mean, say Daniel Craig joins the forum (the real DC, I mean), wouldn't it be a little obvious that he'd start out as more than just a lowly, regular poster?
I don't see what difference it would make, if Ian Fleming was possible to contribute tomorrow he'd have to start from the foot of the ladder, as with everyone else, him , Craig or any other 007 related heavyweight doesn't warrant an Admin position and why should they?

Furthermore there would be uproar and all kinds of mayhem

Suppose Moore or Lazenby took on such a position and someone dared to berate or question their performances, i.e. Rog, you were a disgrace in AVTAK etc, he'd be kicking butts left right and center

    Remember this back in 1994?

I reckon Bonds beard is nothing more than a weeks growth after being on the run from the enemy under the radar..nothing more...hopefully.

The real shocker there is the suit-and-tie-combo. Looked kind of good back in '94, mind. Kind of...

Actually, judging by interviews I read years ago, I was under the impression that he believed this as well.

Plus, certainly after having to deal with critics of all kinds, and knowing that fans are far less forgiving in some respects than critics, I would expect any of them to be used to this kind of criticism.

Starting with "Actually", everything's mine. I don't know why this happened.

As long as he's not being water boarded while Madonna music is playing: ironically torturing both the protagonist and the audience at the same time.

It's torture just thinking about it, actually. That song, oh that song %-(
  • I think it'll only be around for early parts of the film, tbh. By the looks of some pictures I've seen he leaves in a car with a bandage around his head, no doubt the unshaven look is part of it all.

amazing front cover of Daniel Craig - he's so rough now they have to illustrate him. To be honest one of the best magazine front covers I've seen in years. It is a thing of beauty. Not sure about the belt though.

Rooney was photoshopped much more, which actually takes away from the beauty of this cover.

I agree. I really dislike the way Rooney looks in this photo. Other than that I like it a lot. And the belt. Well ... and everything about Craig.

Well, the belt is actually DC's private way to have it. Showed in many pap pics.

To be blunt, I think Craig looks bloody awful (pardon the language). The beard and short hair make him look considerably older.

This is not the look I associate with James Bond. I know this is bit like deja vu when Craig got the part back in 2005. It just reinforces all my doubts about Craig's casting as James Bond!

He looked far better at the premier for Smurfs vs Aliens:

I don't get why the producers didn't go with something similar to that look? Sigh. Sometimes I feel genuine sadness about the handling of the James Bond franchise since Cubby Broccoli's passing. Oh well, nothing us fans can do about it.

You do realise that these photos have been taken from a distance, and that they are hardly the definition of high quality, right?

Nor are they particularly flattering photos - I hardly think Craig would be photographed with that particular expression, given the choice.

But surely his beard will be more obvious in HD? If anything it's going to look worse in the actual film!

Also, Craig's eyes, or rather the bags under his eyes, look rather prominent.

He looks rather tired around the eyes. That's either great method acting or the guy needs a holiday! :P Poor Daniel, he's got another six months of shooting! LOL

Have you considered that maybe the look is intentional - that Bond has been up all night working and hasn't had the chance to shave?

^ Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to reintroduce you to an old friend from the olriginal MI6 forums: Bond_Fan himself. I must say, I'm surprised by your progress. Half complementing Craig in any way, as you did of his appearance at the premiere, would have been unheard of in 2005.

That being said, I don't think your doubts can be reinforced at this point. We already know what Craig-Bond is, unlike way back when. At this point, is just a question of if you like his potrayal or not. The mystery is gone. The answer should be pretty clear now. I have no doubts I will enjoy his potrayal of Bond in the next one, and you have no doubts you will not.

I'm sure a lot of us are looking forward to seeing Craig's beard in HD. :-? :-SS
  • I think the London look DC is supporting looks like the end reel of the film. He looks angst ridden and if he's just killed M. I hope we do have a London finale.

Daniel Craig was sporting an early beard in Casino Royale during the infamous Crane chase. Thought this added a more rugged look for James Bond (not in a sexual way ofcourse LOL)

I wish he'd kept that look throughout the film.
  • where was I

Oh yes, Beard thread again :-S

Since we're at it, I've decided to grow another for the end of year, about a third of the way there I would estimate. Not really sure of Craig face status just recently but I don't care if he does go ahead with it for the next release

Exactly. There are "early beard" scenes throughout the film - Miami airport, torture, hospital and recovery.
These are the best I could find:

    It's more visible on DVD/Blu-Ray.
