Must be one of the rare shots where he actually smiles...

Funny how now we see pics and everyone's all supportive, when just a couple weeks ago, people were so opposed to this idea it wasn't even funny.

You know, its funny that on those official events, he does smile a lot, just the agencies like to show him as the moody one and skip those pics. I remember one of the tabloids covering the QOS press conference having a laughing pic of him and an hour later, it was gone and replaced with a stern looking one. He is not the press darling for not playing the "I kiss your a*** game"

Is it just me but if you look at the QOS poster hard enough DC has a stubble?

...and the infamous beard thread is well and alive. I take it everyone is now hip to Craig's jaw warmer.

Hasn't Dench got really fat ankles? DC looks crap with the beard. But let's see up on screen when the makeup team and lighting guys have done their magic.

    Ta for the link.

Seriously, Craig looks like he's near 60 in that shot.

He said CLASSIC Bond with Capital B, so I have no doubt, its temporar. Also - doesn't his short hair with VERY short on the sides seem like a military cut?

I thought exactly the same when I saw him!

    You are fun #Germanlady.
We Bond fans proud ourselves of having wild imagination, don't we :-D ? You inspired me to do something similar, making up a story based on little. What do you say of the clothes he was wearing, the trousers don't fit him at all (too large, too short) and he was wearing no socks, apparently! Borrowed clothes? Was he naked before, did he fell into a lake, were his clothes on fire? :>
This is fun! more wild theories, anyone?

I think, I said before, that those clothes - except the jacket maybe, don't seem to be his. Obviously, where ever he was, he had no access to his own and probably had to kill someone to get to them and he was in a hurry.

@ColonelSun This is off-topic but do you know what the chances are David Arnold might not return?

In truth I don't; but it does seem odd to me that he's not involved yet.

I suspect Eon are currently talking to someone else - Thomas Newman would be my bet.

When would an announcement, if any, come on this?

They don't need him involved until post-production. Not all composers are brought in during pre-production or production.

Any film worth watching always involves all creative inputs prior to filming - so i would assume they are working with someone right now, this day, this hour, this minute, this second.

Usually, yes, but even that doesn't include composing. IF Arnold is involved (as he probably is), he's probably writing the music and maybe doing a few tests, but I doubt the orchestra has been called in to service yet.

If he really is involved, why was he not confirmed during the press conference or in the press release? Why can he not confirm on twitter that he's doing it?

I think he won't score SF at all, or if he will than not alone.

I thought the same thing when CR came out. I'd heard nothing of Arnold's involvement, and figured that they'd pick a new composer for a new Bond, but I ended up wrong. I'm not gonna believe Arnold's not involved until they actually announce a different composer.

It's certainly true that composers do not alway become locked in and involved in a film until post production, but on big films like Bond, the composer's early input can be very useful. Arnold, in the past, has been creatively involved in the Bond films by the time they start shooting, but with Skyfall this does not appear to be the case. I suspect that is because Mendes has his eye on someone else and Eon are putting together a deal for this new composer.

I could be wrong because when I worked on LTK in post production, they were unsure who to hire as the composer. Barry was unavailable. In the end they went with Kamen and showed him an early cut of the film; but Kamen's late start meant that the score did not get recorded until the very last minute. I recall that while we were doing the sound mix, (mixing the dialogue and sound fx etc.) it was a panic to get the music fitted and into the dubbing theatre in time to do the final mix (dial. FX & music) of each reel.

This is why big films, who can afford to hire their composers early, prefer to have them locked in as early as possible.

You actually worked on LTK? And you're NOT a mod here? That's just weird.

Weird? Why on earth is it weird?

I just assume that somebody who worked on a Bond film would either be highly respected, or posted to a high position within the forum itself. I mean, say Daniel Craig joins the forum (the real DC, I mean), wouldn't it be a little obvious that he'd start out as more than just a lowly, regular poster?

I have it on very good authority that Craig's growing a beard because he drew the short straw among the Eon big-hitters - he's playing Santa at the Christmas party this year.

This exclusive thanks to Baz Bamigboye, by the way...
