Plus I love Pierce and Wai Lin together. ;)
(video in this, just click into - OK you need to go to the 1 hr 33 minutes, 28 seconds for Spicer to come out and speak) Comments on youtube are "disabled for this video". Of course.
So basically it's this, eh:
Hilarious if not so damn truly ugly and serious.
Suddenly I am thinking of this:
It is not just the lies, it is the way this administration is treating the press and the public. Put authoritarian/dictatorship plays.
copying these again here, same ones from above:
If Trump and his admin get their way, and authoritarian rule takes over more and more, makes new rules, restrictions, laws (Congress, grow a spine and morals; you are past due) - it won't look like other countries' dictators. It will be disguised, wrapped in our flag, the facade of democracy rolled out. But Trump can change our democracy, our freedoms, our rights. So please just do not take this lightly, or as only politics as usual, or usual 2 party fighting. It is different. And it must be dealt with.
Good to shake things up? Get things done? Clear out the air? Sure. But not like this. This is extreme (Trumps policies and actions, not just this immature whining about photos) - and much or what Trump is promoting is wrong, unhealthy of Americans. Also, the global impact is real.
It won't play. Are they 'revising' it? :)
Hell, yes, they will edit things, though. The full statement is on youtube (so far...) - my link above with the hour/min/sec. to click into that to see it in full.
I have viewed the short clip each time easily; then it goes to "this media cannot be played." Hmmm.
Here's another link to it: hang on ...
The very first thing Spicer does is lecture the press. They are doing their job, and in this particular instance pretty damn accurately. No questions taken (of course not). It is the attitude and threats that are warnings to us. We've had many warnings.
"I love the smell of napalm in the morning."
"It smells like ... "
And you know, Trump would love that. Except he has nukes now, not napalm.
Great little inside joke, isn't it, 4Ever? :p
This is worth reading re Spicer's statement and how it reflects on Trump's administration, what is possibly coming:
Gen Mattis, confirmed as Secretary of Defense ~
(read comment underneath)
and
re Trump's key influences who will clash with Mattis:
earlier in January, this has several good things to read about Mattis
This is not local. And it is not small.
And in @BeatlesSansEarmuffs's state, I read L.A. had a massive turnout for the protest march. And here is San Francisco:
Impressive.
Austin, TX.
I like how Trump claims he's going to be a "law and order" president yet he's already broken the law with his hotel in DC and then had to have the law changed in order for Mattis to even be confirmed as Secretary of Defense, considering he was ineligible to hold the post in the first place.
"Law and order" indeed, Mr. Trump. Only when it suits you, I guess.
Thank you.
Millions. Men, too. Around our nation and the world.
Something beautiful and truly heartening in this.
And more to smile about a bit, as really the jokes will keep coming: (in spite of, you know, the incredibly serious situation our country is in with Trump) ~
I believe this team is owned by a Canadian, yes?
O Canada xx oo ;)

But I am glad Mattis was confirmed, even though it took special vote to make an exception for him.
I think Trump was counting on violence breaking out during the marches, so he could tout his "law and order" approach to crack down on protesters. We are fortunate things went so very well. I felt sure some agitators would be there on purpose, to incite violence against people or property. No, these marches were overwhelmingly good and without problems.
Then there's his use of executive orders. After spending the entire campaign railing against Obama for his "abuse" of the executive order, Trump has certainly been indulging in the practice himself. Then, of course, there's the fact that one of his executive orders instructed the federal government to ignore the Affordable Care Act if they felt it necessary to do so. Real "law and order" of you there, Trump, instructing the government to ignore the law of the land, a law that was written and passed by the legislature and signed into law by the president, not enacted by some illegal executive order issued by someone intent on "abusing" that particular power.
If Congress refuses to impeach Trump within the coming days/weeks, then they have also failed to uphold the oath that they took at the beginning of the month.
Aside from that, I agree with you 100%. Congress needs to act with courage and get it done.
I also have my doubts about Mattis himself. He's pretty hawkish on Iran. A war with Iran is the absolute last thing this country needs, especially with a childish moron like Trump being the one calling the shots during such a war.
