My intentions were good..........Christmas shopping for other people.............but I couldn't pass this up:

Little Christmas gift for myself (and my girlfriend who also loves Hammer horror and in particular, Peter Cushing).

Last movie I bought? The remake of Midway. The last movies I've rented: The Catcher Was A Spy, Noah, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

A friend sent me this Christmas present. The Blu-ray is a substantial improvement over the old 2004 DVD. Much much cleaner transfer.

I had not seen this film until recently, yet another 70s film I have come to know and love during COVID. This is definitely Eastwood's Bond movie. The climbing scenes are incredible, and it's impressive that Eastwood did most of the climbing work himself.

An excellent movie based upon a very good book actually. Clint does know his classics.

I had to go to three different stores to find it. The first two simply forgot to order it. Or were not delivered, I don't know.

So this one just skipped the cinema. Or did I miss something?

You missed something. I saw it last summer in the theater. Wasn't too successful : a little more than 300 000 seats sold, IIIRC.

Now that you mention it, I think it screened here too, but just for a week or two and just one very late screening per day.

Let's see : The New Mutants opened in France on august 28th 2020. It attracted an audience of 372 640 in France.. So, not a big success. But it was a good movie. Trouble it, it opened in troubled times. And the troubled production certainly didn't help.

My 2020 disc of the year. Absolutely essential purchase for anyone with a Blu-ray player. Astounding picture quality for a title long overdue of improvement as the elements have been in really bad shape.

The disc looks really, really good... When initially released there was apparently a "motion-judder" issue, but that seems to have been corrected after a brief halt in distribution. (Had no such problems with my copy.)

Capt America Civil War. ( with bonus content ) off of Amazon Prime.
Don't think it was as good as The winter Soldier, but still enjoyable
and the Bonus content, Making of documentary etc is very interesting.
