  • Recently saw The Prestige for the first time with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, really underrated film I think, hugely entertaining.

Despite it's reputation, I like Bloodlines, and not in a guily pleasure way. Has anyone seen Revelations yet?

Nah. I have it but I haven't come around to watching it. Let's be frank: it's a cheap film made for the simple purpose of keeping the franchise rights. I honestly dread the prospect of watching this film... Although dread is what the Hellraiser franchise is all about, isn't it?

Oh go on Dimi, you know you want to. That gnawing curiosity to see if it lowers the bar below Inferno, wont go away otherwise. ;)

Watched "Moon" at Christmas and enjoyed it so much, I bought the BluRay. I was expecting a 2001 rehash on a budget but it was so much better than that. Excellent addition to the intelligent sci fi genre.

The Great War and the Shaping of the 20th Century
A documentary in 8 parts about WOI and considered by many to be the best documentary on this subject, even if it was made in 1996 there has not been a better effort to show the first big war in all its ugliness. Tough watching occasionally but very informative, but it did leave me somewhat emotional at times.

Seasons 1 & 2 Inspector Morse what can one say about one of the best detective series ever made?

Danny Boyles Sunshine, only seen this movie once so look forward to seeing if its as good as i remember it.

if.... this film is a masterpiece and despite being made in 1968, feels more relevant now. Both films on dvd.

I'm so glad people are still discovering this one, it's an instant classic IMO.

Was 'Hellraiser: Revelations' the new direct-to-DVD version that doesn't have Bradley playing Pinhead? If so, I saw bits and pieces on Netflix - not worth your time, I was mostly interested in seeing another take on Pinhead, and what a mistake that was.

That's right, it's an Ashcan film (though it has been released). I personally haven't seen it yet, but then only recently have I seen decided to the the post-Infeno (the film that originaly kiled my interesed in the rest of the series) films.
  • Long before the days of Goodfellas and Casino, there was a release called Raging Bull with De Niro and some of the other actors from the aforementioned movies. It's shot nearly in all black and white but the lack of color gives it more emphasis. Seen it a few times, but not for a long time, and I picked it up recently as a last movie purchased so will endeavor to watch at a next opportunity. Not for everyone, but it's an epic story and one of De Niro's finest work

    Looper (blu-ray)

    Skyfall next!

I thought about picking this up on blu-ray, but I haven't seen it since it was released in theaters and I don't recall absolutely 'loving' it to warrant a purchase. I picked up 'Seven Psychopaths' on blu-ray for $20 at Wal-Mart the other day, and I have 'Skyfall' and 'Argo' coming up next.

Is Highlander Immortal worth picking up? Have the improved the picture above the DVD?

Only watched first ten minutes to have a quick look, vast improvement to dvd, never felt dvd did the film justice. You can see slight grain in the darker scenes though the picture is alot sharper and colours more vivid. The extras are plenty also. Watched the first scenes with Connor Mcloud in the highlands with his clan, looks pretty stunning during daylight scenes. By far the best i have seen it look, the disk menu is very good also.
