I spent three or four days watching 'Seraphim Falls' slowly drop in price on Amazon. Picked it up for about $13 with shipping on blu-ray. Great film, surprised I found it so cheap with how rare it seems to be online.

I liked this interptetation of Superman, and looking forward to the next one. And I do have faith in Affleck until he proves me wrong.

Saw a nice 35% off used blu-rays deal today, so I picked up 'The Darkest Hour' and 'The Hunting Party' for only $8.14 total. I love good deals. Now to save my money to blow on all these upcoming Black Friday deals!

If I lived around your area, I'd head right out with you, mate. I don't drive and my only way of travel would be my parents, and they don't go out on Black Friday, unfortunately. It's a shame, because the deals are more than worth the crowds, and this is coming from a textbook introvert.

The Dark Knight Returns: Deluxe Edition (Both movies combined into one) Finally. It also holds a special place in my heart as it was the last movie My late father and I watched together and he enjoyed it a lot. :)

Donkey Kong Country: Volume 1 and 2. I barely remember this CGI cartoon from the 90's but I collect any cartoons that are based on a videogame.

Don't worry; I drive, yet I don't have a car, sadly, so all of my Black Friday shopping is online: Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Amazon for me this year, I'm thinking. I was going to say, I know you aren't one for the crowds - neither am I - but us tackling Black Friday would be a sight to see.

How are the deals on Amazon for Black Friday?

They're whetting our appetites right now with small Gold Box deals: 'Conan The Destroyer' is only $7 and the second season of 'Strike Back' is only $20 on blu-ray. But, I'm sure they'll get better. They usually price match every (or nearly every) film/game deal just to keep up with the competition. Even with random sales, they're always price matching just to draw in more people. I can send you a PM to some forums that have threads that showcase lots of Black Friday ads you can check out. Tons of movies just released are going to be anywhere from $6 - $10.

Also, the 'Batman Anthology' is currently on sale, brand new on blu-ray, for only $24.99.

    That would be great, thanks!

As for the Batman Anthology, I feel bad for all the people who had to restore both Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. That's basically the exemplification of cruel and unusual punishment.

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7, I know what you mean. There's something odd and magical about those films, though. Some of the older Batman's are just so bad, that at times, I have a hankering to watch them.

Key word, "watch." I'm not shelling out $25 for them.

You could probably find them all in a 99 cent bin somewhere.

The 'Anthology' only comes with the three 80's/90's films, and those separately on another site are less than $5 a piece. Even then, nowhere near worth it.

    You mean 4 films?

    Batman
    Batman Returns
    Batman Forever
    Batman & Robin

Unless of course you were trying to make a point that you erased Batman & Robin from your mind, in which case I am sorry for bringing it up.

four*, apologies. For a second, I thought it said "three" on the cover and just excluded one or something. So even then, four of those are still cheaper.

But yes, I do my best to erase 'Batman & Robin' from my mind. It still haunts me.
  • Last movie I bought was Skyfall on Blu-Ray. The next movie I buy will probably be Bond 24. I just don't buy a lot of movies any more.

    Hahahaha, this is rich!

A week or two ago, I bought three blu-rays (on a Thursday or Friday, I believe) and got the order confirmation. After the weekend, I called to cancel the order and was told it would be canceled if they had yet to ship. I received no shipping e-mail or cancellation e-mail. I called back two days later and she told me it was canceled and she sent me the cancellation e-mail.

What did I just get in the mail? The three movies I ordered.

Was my bank account charged? Nope!

Nearly $17 in blu-rays for the fat price of $0.00. I'm happy.

'The Seven Year Itch,' 'The Hills Have Eyes,' and 'Out Of Time.' I don't mind having them, I just always second guess myself with almost every online purchase. Someone on some blu-ray forums told me, though, that I'll end up being charged, and that the same thing happened to him in the past. But, I was charged: it was a pending transaction in my bank account, and now it's gone and I have the money back, so I don't know. If I'm charged in a week or so, I'll debate returning them. We'll see. They were such great prices, though, that I might say screw it and keep them.

Interesting; I've never heard of such a thing happening before. Still, if you are charged I'd at least hang onto Marilyn, for quite obvious reasons.

Absolutely. The film itself is usually $20 new, so I might keep it just for that reason.

I *still* say that one's so BAD it's hilarious. Almost as funny as the '66 movie.

@chrisisall, I can totally agree on that!

I picked up 'The Outlaw Josey Wales' blu-ray digibook today for less than $10. I've never seen it, but after Dad raved about how great it is, I had to get it at that price. I figure another Clint Eastwood western is a great addition to the collection. While I was at it, saw a buy one get one 50% off sale, so I picked up some Christmas gifts for my parents: 'Dark Skies' for my Dad and 'Magic Mike' for my Mom. Perhaps I should switch those and see what they say.

Haha, and then that awkward moment Christmas morning when your father is totally elated after he unwraps it. :))

Excellent choices. I'm sure I'll be quite busy on this thread throughout the week with all of the great Black Friday deals revving up.

Also, if anyone is still in need of the James Bond blu-rays, FoxConnect has them for $5 a piece right now. I'm not sure how many are there, but I know SF doesn't count.
