The Kid Stays In the Picture and Dark Days, which I have never seen before.

    Also
Die Hard boxset with the first three
    The Abyss
    Marathon Man
    The Name of the Rose
    Inglorious Basterds
    Reservoir Dogs

Got them all dirt cheap from a neighbour.

Capricorn one dvd was a big disappointment, looked like a tv version from the eighties, picture chopped to pieces.
I read a review that said it looked like the DVD was made from a videotape.
I think Outland takes the award for worst DVD though, the widescreen side is absolutely headache-inducing. I have a UK DVD of it, thankfully.

Definitely think Bluray Special editions is the way to go with many classics, quite a few of the films i want won't get English bluray release until end of 2014. Think i need to hold off buying dvd versions lol

@ Lancaster007 cheers for that mate, Will definitely buy it.

'House of Cards: Season 2' on blu-ray. I can't wait to go back and rewatch the first two seasons in HD.

Going to sell my LOTR blu-ray steelbooks because I just got a great deal on the Extended Trilogy.

From Beyond on Blu-ray. Eighties schlock horror based on a H P Lovecraft tale. Haven't seen this since the original VHS release. Looking forward to some great 80s gore and weirdness!

    Another bargain from my neighbour.

Millennium boxset (not the stupid Swedish hype, the Chris Carter tv series)
    Gladiator
    The Da Vinci Code
    Natural Born Killers.

All director s /extended/ flamboyant cuts of the best kind.

What does Undiscovered country look like on that format mate? Only bought Wrath... so far as appears Wrath is the only film that's been remastered to 1080p.

I'm not a number geek, but I've NEVER seen this much awesome detail before. Very three dimensional-looking. I really didn't need this one; my remastered DVD is truly excellent, but I was curious. All I gotta say is...wow. :O

    Added: Blu Ray.com says it's 1080.

@MajorDSmythe, let me know what you think of 'Grand Piano.' The only other film out of those I've seen is 'Non-Stop.' It actually surprised me with how entertaining it was, and I've sat through it twice now, but I doubt I'll rush out to rewatch it anytime soon. 'Grand Piano' is just sitting in my Netflix Queue, I'm waiting to fly through these other movies so I can get to it. Looks great!

Non-Stop was enjoyable enough, but of Neeson's Action Thrillers, I enjoyed Taken and Unknown a little more. Plus, we get to see Neeson reunite with his Chloe co-star, Julianne Moore. Win-win.

Grand Piano, well... anything with John Cusack is worth a watch.

The others I bought for Virginia Madsen (Ambushed), Heather Graham & Elisabeth Shue (Behaving Badly), Penelope Ann Miller (A Woman's A Helluva Thing) & Halle Berry (Why Do Fools Fall In Love).

    I can't resist a good sale.

I bought 'Halloween: 35th Anniversary Edition' on blu-ray so I could upgrade my current 'Halloween' blu-ray (the 35th Anniversary version contains much better video and audio quality). Looking forward to it!

Big wow here, Escape From LA on BD looked absolutely fantastic; and I absolutely love the mash of right/left PC trashing therein. A totally fun flick from Carpenter sending up politics in every direction.
Sick & twisted dark comedy. Gotta love it in HD.

Depends on my mood. EFNY is real gritty & serious, kind of like LTK. EFLA is lighter & more pointedly & facetiously condemning of world nonsense, kind of like FYEO.
In the end, I love 'em both equally.

'Three Outlaw Samurai.' Fell in love with it after watching it, so addicted to these samurai movies. So begins my first purchase of the big Barnes & Noble Criterion sale.

The Shinning import version, the whole 144 mins not the cut down European thing. Really looking forward to viewing this again. Hereeee's Johnny! (And yes, no-one over here got that reference when it was first released.)

Shinning! haha. Reminds me of The Simpsons.

    Bart: "You mean The Shining".
Willie: "Shh, you wanna get sued?!"
