@fire_and_ice, there are steelbook versions of both the original and the remake. I found a steelbook version I loved of the original, but it was almost $30 total and I couldn't confirm if it was the upgraded disc version or not. The plain, initial release had poor video quality.
I got the Steel book with the excellent Interview with Paul Vehovan, I think I paid £25 a few years back, felt the picture transfer was too dark. Always adjust my picture settings when I watch it. It was a anniversary edition, probably same as what you bought though repackaged. Great movie nonetheless, one of Arnies best for me.

Finally bought the Blu Ray of one of my favorite films, 'K-19 The Widowmaker'.

Just picked up my copy of Sicario on Blu-ray. I simply cannot wait to give this one another watch, and to see Deakin's masterful camerawork on an HD screen.

@fromswedenwithlove, let us know what you think of the show, and since it was so critically loved and watched by many, I hope you haven't had the ending spoiled for you just yet! I have a friend going through the series for the first time now, as well, love seeing what he has to say about it.

Taken trilogy boxset on Blu Ray.

I've only seen the 3rd one once in cinemas, so I'll do a 'Taken marathon' this weekend! I may be the only one but I really enjoyed all 3 Taken films, I just can't get enough of Liam Friggen Neeson destroying entire armies of bad buys half his age.

@DaltonCraig007, you just may be the only one, unfortunately! ;)

Could not stand the awful, awful editing, plot, and shoddy CG in the second one, and I didn't even bother with the third one because they hired the same director, so it'll be the exact same product, I'm sure.

With Birthday Amazon gift card money I just ordered on Blu Ray:
The Rocketeer- gotta love Dalton's bad guy here!
The Crow - an amazing movie that I finally need to see in HD!
Caligula: Imperial Edition - Oh no, get your minds out of the gutters! If I wanna see porn it's out there for free- this has a re-edited version close to the director's original intention without the Guccione-added hard core lesbian stuff. I saw this SO long ago as a late teen in the theatre... it was like I Claudius on acid. Curious to see what the re-edited version feels like... hopefully more... historic. ;)

That's the best part of the damned movie! I quickly got to the point where no other scene interested me.

    Masterpiece-of-tail Theatre?

SPECTRE, on Bly-ray. I'll watch tomorrow night it for the first time since seeing it when first released. I was underwhelmed then; we'll see how a second viewing goes. I must say that I will have to fight the urge to mute the sound during the title sequence. I've always said that the words "hate" and "hater" are over used but I must say, I hate Writings on the Wall.
  • Went to Cex and bought Silent Running and Zombieland. SP will come out here next Friday and I'm buying it. And, maybe, I'll take a look to Sicario.

@chrisisall, since you're probably the only other person on this planet who purchased 'After The Sunset' on blu-ray like I did, you ought to do me a favor the next time you watch it and keep an ear out during a certain scene and let me know what song is playing in the background.

@chrisisall, send me a PM whenever you get around to watching it and I'll be sure to let you know. I think it's a copyright issue or something; I always remember a particular song playing during the big party on the yacht scene, but when I bought the blu-ray (think I picked it up through a Canadian site, because it wasn't available through the U.S. on blu-ray at the time), and my copy definitely plays a different song in that particular scene, so I'm curious if the new blu-ray version they released is the same as the original U.S. DVD release in that regard.

The complete Star Wars BR set. 80 € well spent, methinks. Now to find the time to watch the six movies and the boni (my next vacation will be spent watching the complete Tolkien collection, from "An Unexpected Journey" to "Return of the King", in Extended Edition. Maybe this summer).

Defiance (1979) Jan-Michael Vincent on Blu Ray. A throwback to the street days of my teens. Like The Warriors, but way more realistic. Plus- the most visceral hand-to-hand urban fight ever filmed in the finale IMO.
