Firefox great film been years since I saw it, would be interested to see what the transfer is like.
I thought that though it was very cheap for the trilogy boxset, I have most of the films on dvd though wanted to revisit the series on BD. Admittedly the AvP films are not great though wanted to complete the set.
I haven't seen the AvP's in a long time; only ever saw 'Requiem' one time, I actually saw the first one in theaters. I was much younger then, so I'm sure I thought it was amazing at the time. Been a good decade or so since.
The first AvP is ok Lance Hendrickson presence is a welcome one as Charles Bishop Weyland, the whole franchise is muddled lol Think he must be Peter Weyland grandfather. Requiem I have only seen once though don't recall liking it I may change my opinion.
The AvP movies I ordered both have the unrated cuts also, think I only saw the theatrical cuts previously.
Excellent stuff.
I finally found this in stores. I've been wanting this for awhile. I of course really enjoy the first two and had to own them. Batman Forever is a nice one to have since it comes with the first two. Batman & Robin I don't really like at all, other than pure nostalgia from my childhood, but I needed to have it for my Batman collection.

Soundtrack score: Ennio Morricone – The Untouchables (1987) € 1,00.
Today:
DVD: The Gangs Of New York (2002) - 2 disc Edition. € 1,00. Include DTS and second disc with Dutch subtiteld bonus material. Only audiocommentary on the first disc is not subtiteld. The BD release include no bonusmaterial.
DVD: A Good Man in Africa (1994) starring Sean Connery (my 13th movie/6 none Bond movie with him). € 0,75
2001: A Space Odyssey- Still not seen this intimidating sucker, but if I'm going to see it down the line, why not in the highest quality available with all the special features. Some day...some day.
The Dirty Dozen- Lee Marvin is awesome, and I need more Lee Marvin. That's the explanation of this purchase, basically. The Blu-ray of the film also includes the full sequel to the film starring the original actors of the first, tons of great military based documentary features, and the marine recruitment video that Lee Marvin starred in to honor his military past. Great stuff.
Blade Runner: The Final Cut- I've been looking for this film in stores for a long time, and jumped at the opportunity to pick it up tonight. I love noirs but haven't seen this one yet, so I need to get on that. The final cut is the edit of the film that is always recommended to me by its biggest fans, so I was happy to find that version in front of me. Now I have my motivation to watch it, especially with the sequel coming soon (skeptical about that one).
Mad Max (1)- My happiest surprise was to find the first Mad Max film in Blu-ray, with a lot of great features beyond the restored picture. The trilogy of Mel Gibson led films are amongst my all-time favorites, and this film kicked off so many subgenres and styles of filmmaking we see other directors using now. George Miller is just a genius, and I look forward to popping in one of the coolest independent films ever made, up there with John Carpenter's Halloween. The 70s were a glorious time for cinema. I'll have to hunt down the Blu-rays of Road Warrior and Thunderdome too, as I really want to do comprehensive reviews on them for a movie-centric blog in the future.
That first and last one are two excellent features I love a lot.
I'm going to use that opportunity to finally see both of those films. I've heard good things, I just hope there's more to them than crazy action.
Daleks: Invasion Earth 2150AD
There isn't.....
On a side note I can't believe you haven't seen 2001 or Blade Runner..!
Yeah, these are the last films one should go in-depth with. They're action fare at the end of the day, albeit films that are expertly choreographed/edited.
From what I remember this one was just as good as the first. Which is extremely rare for a sequel to be just as good, if not better, than the original. I might have to do a double feature night with this.
The Ultimate Matrix Collection
I haven't watched this for sometime and I'm really looking forward to doing a marathon. I loved this trilogy and The Animatrix back when they were popular (or was it unpopular?) and I'm sure I still do today. Can't wait to start watching them.
I have to agree. The narrated version is the best. The Final Cut is alright but I find it easier to fall asleep to... because I have every time I tried watching it.
