Blofeld is not going to be portrayed as a thug, I guarantee if he appears in either Spectre or Bond 25 he will be sophisticated and subtle take on the character and I'm starting to think that Waltz might not be the man.
One way to throw people off would be to plant the story of Waltz being Blofeld when he's not, I sometimes wonder why they don't plant cover stories more often, maybe EON have done just that, using the likes of that blabbermouth from The Daily Mirror to their advantage.
I hope Bamigboye keeps his mouth shut this time round, he took great delight in spoiling many things in Skyfall. The guy should have a gagging order or they should just feed him a line of BS and use him to their advantage and misdirect the audience.
I'd love it if I went into the cinema for the first time to watch the film and I'm possibly expecting something but end up getting something totally unexpected. If Waltz is who he's speculated to be I won't be gutted but part of me hopes he's not and EON has a real coup up their sleeve.
If they are going for the simultaneous release now which is what is implied as the UK isn't getting this in October as previously announced maybe their is a big twist in there and doing this should hopefully keep it under wraps for it's biggest audience the UK and the U.S.
I never felt, that he had anything against MI6. He gave M "hell" for losing the hard disc (as he bloody well should have), but he offered her a generous way out.
It is very unlikely that White and Blofeld are the same character. The only way I could see it working is if they had written Mr White as a pseudo-Blofeld, since they did not have the rights then, and then decided to make him Blofeld after all, now that they have the rights.
Then again, with all the qualities Christensen has, who would want him to play Blofeld when they can have Christoph Waltz?
Burden of proof, this isn't court.
Strong is in Kingsman, Waltz was a villain in the Green Hornet, you can do similar roles.
We shall see.
It is not a court, but the burden of proof goes for every claim: it lies on the side of the person making the positive claim.
Yes, Waltz played villains before. But not to the point of being typecast as one. And he does have a far more reknown as an actor than Strong. I am not saying Waltz will be Blofeld, I am saying there are more chances that he is than anybody else.
On the subject of the Green Hornet which is an awful movie, Waltz saved the whole movie with his first scenes he is a maniac and is an incredible actor, in inglorius Btards he was just incredible but I think he is too obvious and I think production will throw a major curve ball.
I am sticking by with two of my best guesses, Strong while appear at the end of the film as Bloefeld and will return in Bond 25, and that Dame Judi has left a pen drive in the Royal Dalton Bull dog and she will cameo on the video contained within the drive with something which will unmask something to Bond that she feels he was not ready for at the time when she was alive.
She put the evidence in the Bulldog for safe keeping and in the event of her death would leave it with Bond for him to decide, this will set Bond out looking for Quantum but in the process find out about Spectre , either a parent or rival organisation.
Just a theory, I'm hoping Waltz isn't Blofeld, I would like a surprise if he's coming back. Viewers will be waiting for him to say he is and then hopefully P&W & Logan will throw us a curve ball we didn't expect. Would love a proper well hidden twist to reveal his identity, would really make Spectre something very special in the series.
I'm not saying it's Strong though, it's hard to conceal things in this day and age but if they could keep the actor who's playing him under wraps without Baminboye and co finding out and spoiling it for everyone that would be great.
Waltz may not be Blofeld. He may be the main villain and a Largo type. But he is rumored to play Blofeld and from fairly reliable sources. Whether he plays in Bond 25 or not is non sequitur, he is right now the most likely candidate for the role, until we have more information.
This was my thoughts, at the end of Qauntum M had tracked down Vespers boyfriend, but it is never explained who was behind the plot, (according to mathis) all we are made to think is Vesper did a deal with Mr White to Spare Bonds life at the end of Casino in return for the money. It was Qauntum waiting for the money in Venice not the original the original ransom seekers.
Maybe M knew more about who was behind the extortion plot, as Vesper was targeted because she worked for the treasury. Possibly this is where Spectre come in to it and your right, to stop bond going off track on a revenge spree she has witheld this information previously from him. The intel leads him to White and then on to Spectre. I agree with other posts that if Blofeld returns it will likely be at the climax of the movie.
Christensen will probably have a small role in SP. I don't think he is Blofeld. For Mark Strong, I don't think he is even in the movie. There is no evidence for it anyway, so far.
It was only because obviously Mark visited him out there, that was all i was thinking?
Nothing wrong with extrapolating. I wanted Simon Russell Beale to play Blofeld, he was rumored back in 2010 (I think) to play in SF and he was often directed by Sam Mendes on stage (last time this year playing King Lear). But I wouldn't bet he is Blofeld now.
It is difficult to see what Mendes will do? I just get a feeling Blofeld may only be hinted at? Not actually seen like in the early days? But ofcourse i could be completely wrong, I guess we just have to wait and see?
I think bringing White back is their way of tying all of Craig's films together and yes something from the past might mean recent as well as distant.
His dealings with Quantum are from the past so something from his past could allude to that as well as the possible Orberhauser connection.
If it is Dench's M leaving the cryptic message it's bound to be about Quantum, Bond will track down Mr White and then be led to Spectre, I hope we get Blofeld reveal if at all in SP that it is at the end, would EON go for a credit sting like Marvel?
I think them revealing Blofeld in SP might not be there intention but his shadow will hang over the film without him appearing, you might hear some characters say no. 1 but not his name. Laying the seeds for his return but Bond 25 will be the film he's revealed to Bond, the audience may well get to see him before 007 does.
I seriously hope that if he is going to return it will be for a good number of entries, maybe just let him pop up here and there and then finally in his last entry ramp up his appearances before Bond dispatches him, please no Nolan type scenario of killing off normally reoccurring characters.
I hoping now that Waltz is not No. 1.
He may only be hinted at, true. For the record, Waltz would not be my first choice. However so many rumors turned out to be true, including the casting of Monica Bellucci (which flabbergasted me), that I do think him playing Blofeld is the most likely outcome.
Would Waltz want to return to the franchise though after Spectre has wrapped up filming? I'm not so sure?
Yeah, people found it ridiculous when I created the topic back in November 2011. I was laughed at when I actually mentioned the name "Blofeld" for the first time. And look where we are now. S.P.E.C.T.R.E and it's No# 1 operative are alive and kicking.......in Ian Fleming's James Bond 007, "SPECTRE".
On the first page, there are quotes and comments about Ralph Fienne's role being 'darkly complex' and that they needed an actor with dexterity and ability.
Are we to believe that what we got in SF was a 'darkly complex' role for Fiennes?
I would suggest not. Let the speculation begin.
I agree that it is unlikely for Blofeld and White to be the same character. I have been hoping for years now that Hopkins would get the role, but if any one can do it, Waltz can. I think Mr. White has been built up as a fascinating character and I would be a little disappointed if he turned into Blofeld with all of Blofeld's qualities. Also, Blofeld never gets so involved with his own work as White has been in the Quantum plots, at least not until SPECTRE is destroyed in the books.
They can change actors after. But then again Waltz might want to return.
Another reason why I doubt White is Blofeld. White was far too much in the field and getting his hands dirty. He does share a few traits with Blofeld, but he is different on too many aspects.
Hopkins could have done a great Blofeld back in the early 90s, albeit a bit too famous for my taste even then (Waltz and Bardem are famous, but not nearly as much). Now I think he is too old.
I would sooner keep the same actor whilst in the Craig era though. I mean if Mr White had been recast? That would have been a travesty for me! Thank goodness they didn't!
Not about Blofeld himself, but about thinking every actor in this film could be Blofeld.
As for Blofeld, I have the idea we are not going to see him in 24 yet. I do think White got to do with it, but I also don't trust Q, at all.
There has been ridiculous speculation and suggestions here for sure. Mallory as Blofeld?
I don't think Q is a traitor.
