Highlights of 2016 Television

In contrast to films(which were rather underachieving in 2016 ) I thought that we had some great highs on television (including Netflix). I like to list some of my "highs' of the past Television /Netflix 2016

1. Black Mirror episodes 4 (San Junepero) and 6 (Hated in the Nation)
2. Stranger Things
3. The Crown (great perfomances)
4. Westworld (Love Rachel Evan Wood)
5. Game of Thrones season 6 (such an improvement over the previous series)
6. This is Us (the best thing on network TV since The Good Wife ended)

Note that I do not list any sitcoms as I just can't get into any of them.

    Star Wars Rebels S02

Arguably one of the best Star Wars products released in recent times and the only television show of this year that I have seen.

I haven't caught up with Black Mirror yet—and I haven't seen The Crown or This Is Us—but Stranger Things, Westworld, and Game of Thrones Season 6?

    Yes! Yes! Yes!

I loved Deutschland 83 (which only made it to the UK last year), and it was swiftly followed by the BBC's The Night Manager, which made me happy to pay the licence fee.

"The Americans" is the most underrated show on television and any season is well worth it. It gets lost in the splendor of GoT and The People V. OJ Simpson but this show deserves so much more credit. Great writing, good and believable characters, and the nostalgic look at the 1980's.
