Definitely, @stag. Like I recommended the other chaps, to familiarize yourself furthermore with the genre, get a copy of this book. I bought it in '14 and I don't regret it one bit. It was a bit pricy but helluva of an addition to my collection.

I was going to make this exact post with the same image and advice, @ClarkDevlin.

For anyone with an interest this is essential and worth seeking out.

Among bigger names, my favorite Bond alumni in a Eurospy film will always be Mitsouko.

There are a number of Bond girls and other actors as well who turn up in the world of eurospy movies, Mollie Peters like Mitsouko is another who appeared in TB. Unfortunately so few of those films have been copied onto DVD, that the genre is pretty well lost and most of the actors forgotten. The book mentioned earlier in this thread is probably the only single source place to find any information, although as a fan I don’t agree with many of their editorial criticisms. It is surprising to find a thread on eurospy movies, yet the 007 films engendered a trend of usually campy, sometimes serious, often entertaining, “boys own adventure” movies as RM has called his own role in the Bond films. Like any good story it’s all about the fantasy, not the reality, otherwise why buy a ticket to the theater.

Now marketed as a EuroSpy film, the feature length version of Man In A Suitcase two-parter episode, "Variation on a Million Bucks" is now being released on BluRay under the title To Chase a Million.

Pre-ordered it along with season 1 of The Professionals.

Both of them are spectacular TV series.

I will refrain from commenting on the pre-order until I have seen it, as for The Professionals they are great fun and well remastered on Bluray.

After watching the entirety of both The Professionals and The Sweeney, I really wish there was at least one crossover episode between the two. You could imagine how Cowley and Regan would interact...

I have the complete series, but if it brings this often overlooked tv show to the attention of more people, that can only be a good thing.

That To Chase a Million feature length episode looks interesting. Have only seen one episode of Man In A Suitcase so far.

I'm with @ClarkDevlin on not classifying British spy movies within the Eurospy banner. Though in the 70's (as did moviegoers in the Sixties) we referred to these types of movies as "continental movies" not so much as Euro movies. I have no idea how many were produced on the continent in the Sixties, but they must be in the hundreds.

As far as I know, @bondsum, if I remember correctly that is, it did near 300.

That doesn't surprise me. That must be one very long list, and that doesn't even include all the Japanese Bond knock-offs.
  • "Upperseven"... the nifty theme song to THE SPY WITH TEN FACES (1966), starring Karin Dor & Rosalba Neri. (Yowza!)

Yep! That's what happens when you give feminism too much control.

Finished watching Fury in Marrakeshesh (1966) last night. Far from the best film I've seen, but as far as Eurospy goes, it was quite entertaining!

It also featured Mitsouko in one of the roles.

Watched it on Youtube myself. Lots of low res videos there, but there's some eurospy films with decent enough image quality to watch.

I never got around to see that film, despite wanting to. Couldn't find a plausible copy anywhere.
