With it being the 50th anniversary it definatly has to have the iconic DB5 in it.

As it will mark the 50th anniversary of Bond, I think it would have been more fitting to have Bond (in some way...) drive a Sunbeam Alpine, though it lacks the iconic link to Bond that the DB5 has, it was the first car that we saw Bond drive. And in the first film in the series.
  • We've had it in GE, TND, CR and now SF. It smacks to me of a lazy homage the likes of which helped drag DAD down.

Yet, ironically, it wasn't in DAD....

The DB5 is also in TWINE- but blink and you'll miss it.

I guess I've always blinked then. Where is it?

At the very end of TWINE, when M is using thermal imagery to locate Bond (and Christmas!) the Aston is right outside the building they're in. Can't remember where I found out about that. I think it was on the commentary for TWINE (UE DVD).

That would be a nice idea shame only die hard fans would cop it though...

Hmmm. Now I feel like I do almost remember it! Thanks. Without QBranch I would have been dead long ago.

I'm starting the brozzer era tonight in my Bondathon. Probably get to TWINE tomorrow. I'll keep my eyes open for those seconds...

That's their own fault for not being die hard fans. ;)

I'm a Die Hard fan! Bruce Willis is awesome!

But what does John McClane have to do with Aston Martins? ;)

I'm sorry, that doesn't sound like a very exciting Bond movie to me. A name for a movie like that would be SkyStay, Quantum of Brunch, Casino Online, or Dye Another Cookie.

Well it is almost Christmas. Isn't it time for Christmas movies? Die Hard I and On Her Majesty's Secret Service are mine. :-)

Isn't it nice to go back to a film we've seen many times, and learn something new? :-bd

It needs to only take less than a minute. No big deal and it would hardly define or damage a Bond film.

Worst case scenario it'll just damage Bond's reputation for destroying everything he touches. X_X
  • So has there been any confirmation of which other vehicles Bond will drive in SkyFall other than his beloved DB5? Which Jaguar will he drive, perhaps a top of the range XK? Not a bad choice I feel.
No other confirmation. The Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XJ6 are both in the film, but whether or not Bond actually drives them is another matter entierly.

Since Craig is rather similar to Dalton, how about a '87 Vantage cameo?

I love this Aston and the Aston in OHMSS - the DB5 is not the only Aston that we should pull our pants down for.

No matter what Aston Martin does need Bond to make it the brand great. Other Films & TV show can make Aston Martin a star including Celebrities in reality owning An Aston Martin. I love Aston Martins always. I got few including James Bond cars as well.

I'm a big fan of the TLD car. Very cool. I agree, it suits Craig better than the DB5.

I'm amazed on other threads people seem not to care what car he drives. Astonishing. Apparently a Z3 is totally acceptable.

Well, I guess this confirms there will be no other Aston in Skyfall- just the DB5.

I don't mind the DB5 being the only Aston, and Bond's only car. Previously when they're broguht back the DB5 just for a brief appearance it's seemed kind of forced. Like in Goldeneye, it's like Brosnan as Bond was trying to be backed up by his choice of car.

The DB5 in CR I didn't mind so much, it kind of served a purpose and didn't feel as forced.

Looking forward to it in Skyfall, hopefully it feels like a natural fit.

Agreed. I'm happy with just the DB5. After all, we already have a bunch of other vehicles in the film, some of which seem to be integral to the story i.e. VW's, Eve's Defender, M's Jag etc. No need to clutter the film with too many vehicles. In another thread, someone spotted the blue BMW Z3 from GoldenEye in one of the behind-the-scenes photos or videos, so we may even get a glimpse of other Astons in the background of the finished product.

Well said. But it true The British secret Service is not going to issue him a new Aston Martin or any other Brand from europe. But it more likely his Skyfall will be issued a Jaguar.

Unrelated to Skyfall, but Aston is launching its own "Q-branch" at this weeks Geneva Motorshow!

Autocar & Car Magazine wrote in article that the prototype & concept car Aston Martin will revive Vanquish & will replace the DBS. I read the article. It might be also DB9 replacement.

The current Aston martins are the best looking cars in the world.
Even the older ones still look great.
