Good point. I don't understand the love for GE. It's mediocre.
What this discussion has taught me is that bond committed loved skyfall and hates QOS which I don't get. Skyfall has a cool villain but it takes too long for him to show up, the story is crap the action is average and the locations. Are to dark. QOS is no classics bond but it has exciting action a great story and bond in a sitiution that we have never seen him in before
Worst: DAD, TWINE, TND, MR, DAF.
1. Dr No
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. Goldeneye
4. From Russia With Love
5. The Living Daylights
Least Favourites
1. Moonraker (Rubbish!)
2. Quantum of Solace (2008)
3. Skyfall (2012)
4. Die Another Day (2002)
5. License To Kill (1989)
Well, to me the story doesn't make any sense. I mean, Bond meets Crest and Dario very early on, and yet he swans into the Casino knowing that he could be easily identified by one of Sanchez's goons. That's beyond recklessness if you ask me. Also, it seems very strange to me that Leiters wife is killed moments after their wedding, in much the same way that Bond lost his wife. I sometimes get the feeling that LTK is supposed to be a symbolic sequel to OHMSS, in that Bond is avenging his wife by proxy. This film, by comparison, lacks the guts to carry that kind of emotional arc. OHMSS ends on a sad note, with Bond crying for the loss of his wife. LTK ends with Bond diving into a swimming pool and a winking fishing - There's no weight to it.
That's just my opinion. I think this gets a lot of appreciation because in was the most recent Bond film from 89 - 95, but ultimately it's overrated. Yes, Dalton and Davi deliver immense performances, not it isn't enough to carry the lacklustre production design and limp gags. The things this film gets right are done better in Die Hard and Lethal Weapon.
Sorry to be so harsh, but that's my opinion - 5th worst Bond film.
I think for a lot of us it's because GE arrived after a long limbo period. On my part, it was also the first Bond I saw in the cinema. I would bet a lot of GE's fans are of a similar age to me. (I'm not saying there's nothing objectively great about it, but a lot of my love for it is on the emotional level.)
1. Quantum of Solace
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. Casino Royale
4. Thunderball
5. Goldfinger
Bottom 5:
1. The Living Daylights
2. Licence To Kill
3. Die Another Day
4. A View To A Kill
5. The World is Not Enough
TND has been around my top 5 since I watched it on the big screen back in 1997, and I still enjoy it to this day.
Moonraker
The Living Daylights
Casino Royale
Live and Let Die
From Russia With Love
Least favorite
For Your Eyes Only
Tomorrow Never Dies
The World is Not Enough
Quantum of Solace
Die Another Day
It pains me to even say least favorite as I adore two of these films and enjoy the other three. As time goes on I find it more and more difficult to dislike anything about this series!
What? Qos at the bottom and moonraker at the top?
Indeed we are. Truly there is not a single Bond film that is not someone's favorite.
1. From Russia with Love
2. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
3. Dr. No
4. Goldfinger
5. Goldeneye
Worst;
20. Diamonds are Forever
21. Moonraker
22. A View to a Kill
23. Die Another Day
24. Quantum of Solace
1.Skyfall
2.Casino Royale
3.The Living Daylights
4.Quantum of Solace
5.Thunderball
Worst:
1. Die Another Day
2. Octopussy
3. Spectre
4. Moonraker
5. A View to A Kill
Correct! MR has been my favorite for a couple of years now. It used to rank in my bottom 3, but there is just so much for me to love in that entry. QoS is likely to grow on me more, but there is just such a lack of fun throughout that it is hard to rewatch over and over.

*If by "best" we mean favorite, then it's DAF. The film has a special place in my heart, and I know it's not even close to being a good Bond film. But that's why I love it so much: it's corny without any sort of pretentiousness.
**FRWL is in this list over DAF if I'm being more objective about a film's true, technical merits.
Says the guy who rates TB as the worst Bond movie. You shouldn't be so surprised.
1. Casino Royale
2. From Russia with Love
3. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4. Dr. No
5. Skyfall
Worst.
20. The Man with the Golden Gun
21. A View to a Kill

23. Moonraker
24. Die Another Day
Great top 5.
On my part, it was also the first Bond I saw in the cinema and I was disappointed compared to past films.
One of my personal favourites and certainly on my top five, "Thunderball" is one of the most well rounded Bond adventures to date. Exotic locations, beautiful women, battle sequences, gadgets, suspense, terrific music, and a memorable villain add up to the best of the "popcorn" Bond movies. Terrific entertainment and very faithful to Fleming! It's madness to have it in the bottom 5, pure madness. I would go as far as saying that those who don't like TB, don't really like Fleming or Bond.
Fair enough
I currently have it ranked at #6, it's a good Bond film.
Another good list.
